I've been in the process of selling an empty hiwatt 4x12 to a guy in florida for over a year.

He's paid for the cab, but wont send me money to ship the cab.

He used to call me constantly to chat, it was ****ing terrible. I've told him he's only allowed to email me now. I gave him a deadline of April to get me money to ship the cab.

Still sitting in my practice space boxed up and ready to go.

i one time had a guy on CL come to my house to "try out" a cab that he was "sure" he wanted. He comes over and starts playing. An hour and a half later he's STILL getting all chili peppered out on my cab!! so I said, "I guess you like it?". He's like "oh yeah man, LOOVE IT! I dont have any money til friday, can you hold it til then?"
sure..
never heard from him again.
dillweed.

Hey dudes.

Mariana is a whole mixed bag of shenanigans. We've got elements of heavy and light all thrown together. So, at any show we are the outliers...which also means we can play with almost anyone, sorta. I'm sure that we are pushing some boundaries on peoples musical tastes. We do have a keyboard player, though, and it seems that anytime a heavy band with keys in it comes to town we get contacted to play. Works for us.

I live in the safest town on the planet; I've never had even a remotely scary/disturbing CL experience.

haha, hilarious. I love socially ******** people.

He paid me the $200 for the cab in installments of $50 via money orders which he would mail to me every few months.

At one point he had paid for a shipping label, but then cancelled it because something came up...that was around 4 or 5 months ago.

It'll take this dude another year to purchase all the speakers.

Try this again

I don't goto people 's homes anymore. Neither do I bring them to mine. I like to meet in public places cause I'm paranoid.
That being said I can't convince my wife to do the same.
"Honey when you tell people to'come over anytime I'm a stay at home mom'your asking to get raped."
Her response "I'll just try and relax and enjoy it."

That such a badass yet frustrating response!!!

I wish my CL meetups were that innocuous.
Always seems to be a meth trailer on the back 40 for me.

I actually bought a guitar in a crack house in Austin and wound up selling it here in denton to a guy I've been friends with ever since. I see him like every other day. We've become Eskimo brothers since lol can't say that about anyone else.

Before the craigslist killer stories, I sold a SX strat to some dude that was a total dick bag. He haggled the ad to $75. That was my bottom dollar. Came over and played it for what seemed to be an hour. He basically refused to leave my basement until he got it for $60. Stupid jerk.

That dude would not probably not have got to my house. Soon as someone haggles me to bottom dollar I say I'll keep that in mind but there's someone else with blah blah $x. They usually back off or raise their price back up.

my ovation magnum deal to the guy in russia where i sent it to a middle man first in arizona went 10x smoother than trading a bass to a guy in texas lol.

He's not talking about me Corey!

I've been threatened by a man probably twice my age, but I settled it myself. He's that guy over the summer who bought my Hartke then called over and over that night to say it died at a gig and I owed him twice what he paid for it and he knew where I lived... I was furious so I gave him an exact refund and made fun of him every step of the way even once I got it home and realized he lied I texted him back I told him some pretty spot on criticisms (aka make a grown man cry stuff) about him and they must have been spot on as I'd hoped because he called me right away and basically was like that mad where you want to yell but it'd only prove my point... So he just yelled you know I'm right!

Majority of my sales leave with profit of at least 20%, most 100-200%. And most buys are haggled down quite a bit quickly. Once I'm at the buy, I'll try any haggle again which nearly always works, but in some cases the person just gives me whatever it is or freebies.

So last night I wired up the new pick ups in my bass, sounds really good, but a little noisy. Could be my soldering skills, could be that there is no shielding in my bass, and I have HE florescent lights in my living room. Either way the push/pull tone knob works great as an on/off switch. I am pleased with this upgrade.

In other news I think I have figured out my small tube amp issue. I am going to check out a VHT Special 6 later today.

Yea I'd say it's the shielding and maybe wiring first just because I've never had an affinity p not make a little squeal.

It's always funny when people try to haggle in person after you've already decided on the price before meeting up. When I was selling my Peavey IPR3000 I had a guy come in, try it out, said he really liked it and wanted to buy it, then pulled out his cash and he was $60 short. Told me all that he brought with him, so I told him that I guess he wasn't leaving with the amp then. He said he'd go check to see if he had any spare cash in his car, and came back with the exact amount we had previously agreed to haha.

She doesn't have s scared bone in her body. I like having a wife who is willing to kill me in my sleep.

The wife from house of cards intrigues me, but idk if I could deal with that full time... But I guess the benefit of that relationship is you don't have to.

I never carry nor keep anything weapony on me when buying or selling. Mainly go to residences. If it's my time to go so be it, I don't think it is going to be while buying a big muff.

I do always tell people put there dogs away before I arrive. You might be normal but your dog usually isn't very cool with me.
