Stoner/Doom Bassists 89: Father's Missing Voodoo

Conan are from Manchester (I have a horrible feeling they're actually Liverpudlian which is a massive faux pas) but it isn't really from London. I am seeing them in the Summer though. They did a tour with Bast recently which I was apparently amazing but I couldn't get there.
If you're talking about a town having 250,000 people then the UK might as well be one place thoughMy town has 80,000 and it's the county town of one of the biggest counties of the UK. I dunno how a county compares to the US though.
Metal archives says they're from Liverpool. Also, "Liverpudlian" is the best demonym ever.
We also have counties, actually. People from the UK and people from the USA, especially those of us on the west coast, have very different ideas about what constitutes "far away" (hint: San Francisco to Los Angeles is, according to Google Maps, about the same driving time as Edinburgh to London).

I hear this term everywhere up here, it's just like d beat and metal screams with thrashy metal punk guitar. I am not a fan.
Picked up the Ibanez Roadstar II bass. Based on the serial number it's an '83. Neck is straight, everything intact, doesn't look like any mods were done on it. Definitely road worn, the clear coat is worn off in the usual body/fretboard areas, the frets and hardware are dirty as hell. It's setup with crazy high action, little too much relief on the truss rod, but should play like butter with a decent setup. The stock pickups are really microphonic/thuddy. Someone who wants to play blues or have a very "woody" 60's tone would probably love it. I like hot, tight, aggressive P pickups personally, so I would change em. They sound a lot like what the pickups in my MIM Precision sounded like stock, with a little less high end.

Yeah I felt we might have a difference in scale. 70 million people and basically all of us live within that San Fran to LA distance. At least we've had time to come up with fancy names for where we come from I guess.

My guitar player is using it currently. Having the Ultimate drive with the Pharaoh wasn't enough sonic difference with my eq setup. The Fulltone Dual Drive is sounding amazing though. As did the 80's NYC muff.
Exactly. Look at the later bands they signed. Genre hate is dumb. Just be happy someone cares enough to come to you. Also, if the label didn't think it would work, they wouldn't offer. Epitaph has had some really off the wall **** on their label too.
The BDDI has a lot to do with the final sound you feel in the crowd. Without it, my rig sounds like a clock radio (not really, but it does add enough to make me always have something like that on my board).
Played with a couple of blues fusion type bands. Thrash, Post Metal, Grind, Screamo, Punk Avant garde, so yeah. We get diverse **** here. Denver has "doom" shows. We just get whatever we can in my little town.

No problem man, it wasn't very out of the way. The grocery store was directly on the way back, so the wife and picked up stuff to make turkey chili. Rounds on there now, but they've got a pretty dead/thumpy feel on em.

If you think it can handle it is probably make this my bead bass. I can buy some fiver chromes and some labella flats for the bass vi from just strings.

Going to team meetings or Victoria secret to measure things the last few weeks. Need to post a lot of things on craigslist. Also I heard about a part time job as a personal assistant to the LGBT someone on campus for $10 an hour so that'd give me some extra cash until I finish summer school and graduate.
