Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I think @mbelue and I are a little miffed. Pricing on the MiniMega shows a $600 increase. After months of vaporware status, this is the final straw I think. If I get another regular gig and need a micro it probably wont be the MM1000.

New word from bbybld: price listed is atypo.
It's 599.

The amp is now Jesus Chris, back from the dead.

So $600 is too much, but $599 is ok? Sorry I'm late to this and confused? $599 is still a lot.

Didn't even consider that. Poor man's Ric? Although I don't know about poor. No idea how expensive these would be, can't find any info. Wikipedia says Teisco is owned by Kawai which is a Japanese company, so who knows.

If it's owned by Kawai, maybe mothgirl is a valid coupon code.

So I'm going back to austin next week to partly finish some projects with my dad. Hopefully that means the pignose headcase finally gets built. Gonna also try to figure out how to run it with el-34's (someone gave me some, and I Prefer them to 6l6's) and get a pre amp bypass so I can use a different pre.

Still want to find or build a cab for it @CL400Peavey This is a 50 watt amp, so not super loud. I really like the open back cab sound on guitar, and this is mostly for that, but I'd also like to be able to use a standard tuned bass on it. Is there a safe open back design? Or a decent design or model of cab that's sealed and ok for bass with a removable back panel for open back tone?

Also what's your preamp called again I keep searching for Gotham, guess I'm wrong. With that I could switch between bassman/Marshall existing amp tone and b15.

Eminence Alpha, sealed with about 1 cubic foot per driver, might be OK with guitar open back.

Is she beyond the live wire ages?

Eminence alpha 15a? And by ok do you mean it will suffer tonally potentially?
Alpha 10a. That recommendation really comes from another thread.

I've not read about those drivers for guitar, still searching... Should flap their butt off open backed though...

My daughter, Rapunzel is 3, so I'm not sure what you mean by live wire....

Live wire = hyper, my cousins were always crazy when I babysat them, maybe because they knew I wasn't a parent and could get away with it. But I had to run all over the place after them.

Nah, she's mostly chilled out. We read books and play catch, sometimes she watches something on TV.
She spends allot of time drawing, cutting and glueing. Think she might be a scrap Booker.

I found this little note on the Teisco models:

Teisco Del Rey Guitars will return with these streamlined takes on the much-coveted Spectrum six string and bass. The curvaceous bodies are molded from a plastic called Luthite. No word on price or dealers yet, but keep your eyes peeled!
Luthite?
That stuff gives me nightmares. My wife got me a used Ibanez Ergodyne EDA905 one year for Xmas.
The SOBs at Fed Ex broke off the upper horn in transit. I didn't have the guts to play it before I mailed it back and filled a claim.

Yeah that is a huge con.
Yeah it looked like this.

The color is kinda off there but it's a solid vagina-pink.
