The good thing about setting up guitars for slide, is that it eliminates a few things that make cheap guitars unplayable. It doesn't matter as much if the neck is a little wonky or the radius at the bridge is setup just right. You can raise the action up really high at the nut without replacing (just shove a pencil or something under there, done). You can get slide setup guitars accomplished pretty cheap with a lot of easy cheats. Cruise the local CL for guitars under $100 that need some love (read: are beat/sh*tty). Then go spend like $35-55 on a decent budget pickup and the rest is elbow grease.

Hey there dudes. Great convo I'm finally catching up on. Lots of images aren't showing up, so I'm pretty heart broken I don't get to scope on rere's mom.

Got a new rig this past few days...been wanting an old Scout II for a long time and a decent condition, all original version showed up locally so I picked it up. Not going to do anything crazy with it, just want it running and I want to take the top off. I would like one shallow, but gorgeous, woman to think I'm hot and sexy because of it. We'll see how that works out. lol.
