Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Can you really call a fetish a movement?
I know they've got numbers but they aren't looking for social change right?
Or are they...

I think they call their movement "yiffing"

The other month I was in this costume shop, and had to be funny so I asked the dude behind the counter if they ever have trouble with firries and he looks up and is like "yea man they'd all do whatever the hell they do in the back of the shop until we finally caught on to it. Now only the clueless ones show up."

I could get into it, but it's not my place to defend someone else's subculture. There are people who've posted to this thread who are into the furry culture, but I don't know how casually/seriously. It's not really a fetish, the fetish/sex part is a subset/aspect of furries and they seem to generally dislike being associated with it. Though not all, since there are always people not offended by sex and don't think it needs to looked down on. Even the costuming part is only a subset. It's kind of the same thing as the public thinking people's with Tourette's Syndrome just curse uncontrollably in public. It exists in reality as part of that disorder, but not the entirety or the majority and the pop culture stigma of it pisses off a lot of them. The meaning of "yiff" depends on the context, it's either a specific sex act or a general sexual term, adapted from an innocent one (something akin to the sound of a fox bark). I'm not going to explain it, you all have Google.

Spending too much time on the internet will make you know things you shouldn't know.

Hey there dudes. Great convo I'm finally catching up on. Lots of images aren't showing up, so I'm pretty heart broken I don't get to scope on rere's mom.

Got a new rig this past few days...been wanting an old Scout II for a long time and a decent condition, all original version showed up locally so I picked it up. Not going to do anything crazy with it, just want it running and I want to take the top off. I would like one shallow, but gorgeous, woman to think I'm hot and sexy because of it. We'll see how that works out. lol.

Love those vehicles.

Google gives the people what they want. So porn always rises to the top. There's a furry message board that is mostly NOT sexual. I've read it for at least an hour before, but I got the sense even IT was niche in very specific ways. Like how someone could just really love one doom metal band and be really confused coming into this thread unprepared. Bunny costumes? Peavey? Why are they talking so much about the efficiency of cabs? I just want to talk about how much I like Saint Vitus.

Following up on the "turn down for what" video...

The amount I love this song makes me hate myself.

Hey rere, why did you post a picture of my mom and me on the day I graduated from hip hop academy?

Kawai, you nasty...I'll trade you her for 6 elk cheeseburgers, 23 ripe starfruit, 4 fainting goats, and a berlap sack filled of tapioca pudding.

Do any of you know if there is any kind of cable/box/device/spell that would allow me to, somehow, run two 4 ohm cabs out of a regular 4ohm amp? :help:

I remember Mr. Dunwich made some sort of series/paralel box for Sam to use his 215 cabs with his Matamp, is that the kind of thing I should look for?

My friends a CNA at a hospital,he's making like $15-$22 depending on the shift.

Also how do you get yours legally as medication in a legal state and need to pass a test in a medical facility in said state? I figured a main perk of it being legal was not having to jump through stupid employment hoops

That music doesn't sound like Hendrix, but that first video classic posted reminded me of Hendrix in the first 6 seconds to the point of thinking it was him because he was always doing that trill thing it seems.
You would think... It has something to do with employer choice.

So yesterday was NBD but v no pictures no NBD, right?
Not sure what gives it such sweet tone but its fantastic, big bottom thick in the low mids.
The neck is reasonably comfy even if it's a thinnish D shape which I don't generally care for.
One thing I'm kinda lost on is how you adjust bridge saddle height. A&D strings are much higher than E&G. Not even close to matching the fretboard radius.
Came with some old ground wound strings on it. Very unbalanced tension.
It's begging for a tapewound set. If string height at bridge is set by filling down saddles then this might get assigned to BEAD duty. Need to do some research before anything else.
Oh and it's kinda dirty like funk in the frets dirty.
Still I'm VERY happy with what it is for $175.

Love that Hondo, I brought a set of small files, a big ass weller soldering blaster pistol and other goodies back from home so I can get the Ibanez in action for B tuning as well.

The 2x2 headstock just makes it seem like it's meant to play heavier stuff, although it doesn't like fitting in my case.
