Agreed on the bridge pup placement. Overall, it looks like a cheap knockoff, which it is. Sounds great though, and'll serve well as a "dive bar Ric."

Looks a lot better without the rather squarish pickup cover, too. What did it have before you put in the Delano pickup (which I bet kills)?

I do like that color, a lot, though. Rickenbacker really should offer green themselves. Imagine how popular they'd be in the stoner community.

it sounds better in the mix at loud volumes. at home I could never get a good sound out if it.

There're dive bars and then there're hellholes. Jules may be somewhere in-between..

I don't mind the Scandinavian guy voice. I mean, I like a lot of Scandinavian bands.

What I mind is that, for me, they're... well... just not very exciting. They sound like the parts of Black Sabbath that I like the least. And border almost on dad rock, to me. Despite being loud, it's still somehow also polite.

And it's not like I dislike all old-school sounding, blues based rock. DMN's band sounds great, to me.

I will say, I probably have more of a tolerance for this genre. I'd rather there be a bunch of bands sounding like the whole "retro" whatever than like...some 90s alt rock or pop punk or whatever the hell passes for indie rock these days.

I will say that for me the weak point in a lot of bands in this genre is the vocals in my view. Like, sure, these people can sing, but it's nothing stand out. That's why I really like the ones fronted by women. Blues Pills, Purson, Ruby the Hatchet, Dead Feathers.

And as for a lot of the other retro rock, I'm not really looking for Sabbath stuff (I think Uncle Acid has that pretty well covered), I'm looking for more...idk, jammy stuff? Not just heavy stuff for the sake of it. On the heavier side of things, I've been enjoying The Shrine, Vintage Caravan, and Sons of Huns, and I think a large part of that is that, to me at least, their vocals stand out as different. Also been enjoying The Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell a lot, I think of them way more in the Sir Lord Baltimore vein.



But bands like these I listen to a lot more of. Not heavy, but solid rock for me, and I think, again, their vocals stand out more than a lot of the Scandinavian family of retro rock. Not that I dislike that Scandinavian accent, but I can understand other people getting tired of it.

@D.M.N. +1 The heavy blues, jammy, and desert stuff led me to this genre so I have a soft spot for it even if it is being made on a press in Scandinavia lately. I was getting tired of hippie jam bands and how terrible alternative music had become. I am thoroughly enjoying more and more Doom especially the instrumental stuff.
