That sucks Julian, asking employees to do more work for less pay is a slap in the face.

Company I worked for, for 8 years decided one day they just didn't want to employ me anymore, but they wouldn't fire me either.
Despite being the best at my job in my department/pay level to the point where some of our customers would actually refuse service from us, unless I was the one there to do the work.
They steadily cut my hours over the course of a couple years until they dropped me down to maybe 11 hours a week. Forcing me to quit so I couldn't get unemployment....pretty poopy/shady stuff going on there.
I've got a way better job now, so I can't complain. But it showed me early on how much loyalty/respect you can expect to get from employers.

I just picked up an Epiphone Thunderbird that I plan on getting set up for C tuning. I was thinking of putting on earnie ball regular slinky which are a 50 - 105. Is that going to be too much? I normally play my other bass in e tunning or down a half a step with with super slinkys 45-100. So thats what I am more used to. Are the regulars going to feel good in the C tuning? I dont want really floppy strings when I play but still want a fat low tuned sound.

Damn, hate to hear that about Your job situation Julian. It sucks for sure. I can say without a doubt, that I know how it feels, as they cut out Our OT a little over two years ago, as well as they stopped letting Us "bank up" or roll over, Our vacation time (to soften the blow, They sent out a nice heart-felt email, letting Us know how many millions they were saving the company by doing so, lol). Cant say it's the worst lick I've ever taken on a job, but it sucked pretty bad none the less.
Befuddles the poopie out of Me that, some people that are in charge of such things, loose sight of the fact, that once You take away "the little extras" it zaps someones motivation, to work harder, or actually give a shag about the job.

Depends on how much tension you want. Something with a larger gauge might suit you better.
For doing a C standard tuning, I usually get a light gauge 5 string set (120-40) and toss the "G" string from the pack. You can do the "build Your own set" deal on bassstringsonline, and get exactly what You want, but it usually cost a few bucks more than buying the 5 string set and just throwing one away (More wasteful, but costs less, lol).
On a lighter note, I really dig that Stonehelm album. I've been jamming it all morning so far.
Yeah. That'd be how I do it. For Me, the tension seems about right, for a C tuning. Keep in mind though, that some file fitment of the nut will probably be required though.
Laz posted them over a year ago. I have listened to that album every couple of weeks since then.
It's pretty solid. The only thing I don't like about it is the really high pitched, ringy snare tone on some songs. It's mixed a little more subtle on some tracks. I can overlook it though, I dig the music and the tones overall.
My professor sat us down for the last day in his class to share all his life lessons. Basically you need a search for a new job that offers at least 25% more pay than the highest you were paid here, with same if not better benefits, and be willing to relocate always. And remember income tax levels and the housing index of you do move as it's a fake improvement if you move somewhere and your increased pay just feeds your exorbitant rent and income taxes.
He's one of the best I've had, and definitely the one with the most real world advice.

Sorry Julien that sucks. My job just turned to shite yesterday to, lost the tech below me so I have to swollow up her work loak for no extra pay and they are most likely going to freeze her position so it's most likely a permanent screw me. Been thinking of selling my house and moving back to Florida to escape these daily migraines, now I am super motivated to jump ship. Going to miss her bangin legs in miniskirts too...
