BBC and PBS are decent news sources. But even the BBC is falling victim to the 24 hour format.
Christian Science Monitor is good for text-based news.
Just modify a harmonica mount and wear it all day?
Waiting for new GK 800RB based pedal. Supposed to arrive tomorrow, but haven't had shipping updates in 2 days! First world problems suck!
In other news, might have to get a Green Rhino for my guitar rig. A used one came up real cheap here, and I hear it's good on bass too. Anyone ever use a Green Rhino on bass (or guitar)? What did you think?
Don't know about the power amp or preamp questions, but it's a brand new pedal designed by TB'er @boomertech and prototyped by @johnk_10 . I'd say it's more of an OD than a preamp (it IS based off of the 800RB preamp), but as it's BRAND NEW, there's not a ton of info. They've released the schematics for anyone to build, and I scored one built by @domdec314 . There's a pic on page 31, but JohnK made some as well with an amazing enclosure, but they're all gone. (Last I knew, at least.) It's all very technical on that thread, but here's the gist: it's the GK 800RB grind in pedal form. It's going to be my "fuzz" pedal when it arrives. It's articulate, I can keep my heavy and my definition with it. LOVE my 700RB-II's grind, but it pretty much only does that when I set it for that. This will give me grind at the stomp of a pedal, and lovely GK cleans (with which I can use other dirt pedals, don't play totally clean often!) too! Can't wait! What is this gk pedal? And can it be run into a power amp?
Are there 800rb just preamps?
Its based on the 800rb poweramp. And quick edit: Here's the thread link - GK rails in a pedal? | TalkBass.com
Thanks! Like I said, that stuff is a bit above me. I just know they basically took the old circuit from an 80's 800RB and shrunk it down to the necessary components to the get the sound in a pedal. Whatever they did, it sounds magic, and I can't wait to hear it in person. Its based on the 800rb poweramp. No preamp circuitry involved.
It's a simulated poweramp in a pedal.

That makes sense. Hitting the rails, is what gives it that panache. A sim SS power amp in a box with as much grind at whatever volume I need? Oh dear lawd! Its based on the 800rb poweramp. No preamp circuitry involved.

My thoughts exactly. The second I heard about this, I NEEDED it! GAS won instantly! That makes sense. Hitting the rails, is what gives it that panache. A sim SS power amp in a box with as much grind at whatever volume I need? Oh dear lawd!
The 800rb/400rb riding the rails sounds nothing like the new MB models.I wanted the gk clean. Neva mindo

The former is akin to the voice of God in coitus.
The later is just a bass amp.
This is the time that the GK owns. This is what it can sound like cranked through an 8-10. It is devastating. I need to make friends with a pedal builder that "just likes building poopie for people".My thoughts exactly. The second I heard about this, I NEEDED it! GAS won instantly!

Found a second 3620 but the dingus selling it wants $500. Fugg that, that's fugging ridiculous. I was even willing to go up to $350 (which is also too much) just to complete the pair.
