Yeah, obviously even areas that are called "conservative" aren't all marching in lockstep.
I think it would get very tiring to be asked "where do you go to church?" a ton, though. Though if I did live in a conservative area, I might actually find the local Unitarian Universalist Church and go to that, just to find all the hippies, ha.
I mean, I try not to be actively rude to people in my day to day interactions... but I can't see myself just being cool with people who I know are super bigoted and who vote for bigoted policies without feeling like I'm letting my friends down.
Bible thumpers rarely come around here. Basement apartment and such, so not tempting I guess. When I was a kid, they went to our house, and my dad flatly told them that he was Roman Catholic and so thought they were heretics (he was Catholic, but not conservative, so he didn't actually give a **** about heresy, he was just annoyed with the door to door people and wanted to mess with them). They didn't come around after that.
