I guess, for me, the friendliness can't really make up for the terrible politics. I have friends who are gay, friends who are transgendered, friends who have had abortions. So friendliness coming from the same people that would vote to, in my view, take away my friends' rights, just comes off as fake facade level crap to me. Maybe my worldview is too simplistic, but I'm very loyal to my friends, and so people who would oppress them, given the chance, can only be my enemies. I've kinda learned that for the people that such laws actually directly affect, there can't really be an "agree to disagree" on those issues, the same way I suppose there could be for me. So I prefer rude, ******** who acknowledge the people I care about as human beings deserving of equality to polite, 'nice people' who don't.

*gets off soapbox*

We actually used to occasionally have thunderstorms and pouring rain. We didn't really have a winter this year, so I think there was... like one single storm. While it was dramatic, I'd prefer the north coast's whole "having enough water" thing.

Awhellyeah. What's your poison? The past several months I was on a major "dark and thick as I can get it" jag. I discovered something called "Milk Stout" from a brewery in Colorado that is amazing.

Now that Spring is here I'll probably switch over to some more lagers and pale ales. At least that seems to be the way I roll...



Yeah, that would have been okay for me when I was younger as long as their were gigs to play and parties to go to.

Now, there's no way I could take it. when I was in New York state, for several weeks it would get dark at 4:40 in the afternoon and be black as pitch by 6PM.

For me, that ain't no way to live.

No, you're not getting bagged on because Bassons are heavy. I don't care about weight. My cab weighs probably around 175 pounds and it only has two speakers.

You're getting bagged on because Bassons are ridiculously inefficient. That's a fancy way of saying "quiet." Obviously they'll be loud if you pump two thousand watts into them, but if you take a regular old 300 watt tube head (that probably weighs at least 60 pounds), and plug it into a Basson, it'll be considerably quieter than if you plug into most other cabs of the same speaker configuration.

If you actually have a couple kilowatts of power to slam that cab with, well then, yeah, the Basson's high power handling would come in handy. But most people don't, even people interested in playing ridiculously loud.

I'm an only child so perhaps I'm a grey sheep. I've done everything my parents wanted me to and everything they didn't.

Used the T-45 at practice last night... Although I was a little bummed with the over all tone, 2/3 of the band was happy with it. Go figure. The thin neck is not that stable with these EXP and tuned to B so well see if it sticks around. The ATK on the other hand is stable as an Ox. Need to A/B them and see if I can get the grind out of the ATK that the T-45 brings.

That's a damn steal for one with rosewood and burst.
I've never heard of neck problems before, B shouldn't be a more a problem than any other string if you get the tension correct.

There is actually less tension on the neck in BEAD tuning than in EADG. Usually.

Most string brands' B strings are lower tension than their Gs. Using BEAD tuning, you are essentially ditching the G, moving the other strings over, and putting in a B. So if it can handle EADG, it should be able to do BEAD.

So well see after rolling through three song sets they at least have some mileage on them. I'm not fighting the neck width as much as anticipated. Going to keep with it and see if I can find a happy spot.

If you moved the truss rod that much I'd expect some instability for a period. Might just need to settle.

The strings aren't floppy at all. It is a .130 B hex core construction. Same as on the ATK.

Neck is all maple but there is no fret board cap in the construction. I can see the glue line in the middle of the neck so it is two separate pieces of maple glued together with the truss rod in there and the neck wood acting as the board. If it was a rosewood cap I would expect it to hold a bit better.
I'd like it to work because at home it sounds great.

Like my guitar is tuned ADGCEA is A# just a half step down from A? Or is it C standard with the C string dropped to A#?
