Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

So I've been crushing hard on Lowe Custom Guitars for a while now. Dude does some awesome work.
Getting one right now is just out of reach and kinda superfluous considering I don't have time to start a band.
Anyways he did a group buy for his new medium scale conversion necks and the Mrs. encouraged me to order one for our anniversary.( Pretty awesome) So I'm on the list sweet.

I don't own a single bass I could stick this on so I guess it's time to build one.

Looking at bodies to pair up with it.

Getting this headstock in maple/maple(wife's condition). Lined fretless(also the wife's condition).

Part of me wants to stay simple and slap it on a Precision body and call it a day. I keep seeing these unfinished Iceman bodies and now I'm not sure...

If I found one in reverse P I'd be sold already.

Any opinions?

Yeah I hadn't considered reverse shaped bodies until I started thinking about the medium scale, graphite bars, ultralight tuners.
Might not even nosedive.
I play in an almost classical guitar position so I hate heavy necked instruments.
Hell a Thunderbird body might work.

The neck I ordered is a 32" scale when installed on a 34" body. That's the nature of its"conversion".
So any 34" body with a fender neck pocket will work.
The upside IMO is the oversized body will maybe "outweigh" the neck.

Fur sure... I get where your coming from. I'm just kinda suggesting to keep ergonomics you may be comfortable with in mind. That rough cut rickish body he has on his site has a nice forearm relief. It's a shame Warmoth will consider a reverse P "custom" work. I think they still can build an Iceman shape with a fender pocket.

Yeah that forearm contour is on all his models, did you look at any of the pictures from below?

Really extreme but looks comfy.
If you hold it like a guitar.
I tend to hold at a steep angle so that contour is less critical for me.

The reason I don't need the T-40, im finally fixing up the roadstar ii corey helped me get. Got the stripped pickup screws pulled and the holes widened, cavity and pickguard copper lined, guts picked out. I'll wire it, file the nut and string it tommorow.

ADGC via a fiver set of chromes

No contour on it or my 32" bronco, but I play with my wrist in the valley between the butt and horn and float my hand across the end of the fretboard. Always comfy to me.
