Well, I always thought it was a pretty stupid name for a band, but I'm not going to make threats toward them or a venue where they happen to be playing. Christ, who has that kind of time? This is the United States, they can name their band whatever stupid thing they want.

Seriously. With everything that is going on in the world, in the nation, in your community and in your personal life, THIS is going to be your crusade?

One of the big problems in the world today as Muddslide sees it:

People have forgotten that you do not have the right to NOT be offended.

Something, somewhere is always going to offend somebody for some reason.

So what? Do we ban and censor everything? People need to pull up their big boy and big girl underoos and just deal.

I hope this isn't overly controversial or cheesy, but I was wondering if anyone on this thread was at all interested in Left Hand Path / Dark Arts kind of stuff.

I have a fascination with it, but definitely from more of a historical/philosophical standpoint than from a practical one. I study "magick" (with an extra "k" for super occult powers!) in a sense, but have never been terribly interested in trying to perform any or involve myself in rituals or operations, largely I suppose because I am both lazy and skeptical...

There are some great Bass mods for the VJ as well! Basically a new Output tranny, added filtering, and rejiggered input section for more bass-appropriate tone. Also a 12AT7 for less gain. Pretty happy with it, it's my home practice amp basically.

I might need you to fix/mod mine for me sometime soon.

I have drawn up a 218 version, but haven't built the prototype yet. Just goofing around at the moment with these things to test sealed designs. The '1822' prototype I have sounds really good to me. There are times when I love the sealed thing a lot. Super punchy and thick. I kinda figured at some point I may make them available, with and without mid drivers. Will most likely do a third prototype of the 1822 soon to test one more possible form factor. Would love to try a ported version as well just for kicks. I'm kinda over the moon for these 18" drivers I found

If you need a beta tester...im your guy man. Are these super efficent style cabs like a dually is?

Another band on Riff Reaper has a show on friday the 20th, that had a couple bands back out of so were heading down a day early to jump on that bill before we play with Pelham Bleu on saturday the 21st. oh and i work at 6am on friday before we leave for iowa city. Its going to be one hell of a weekend.

Congrats on the mini-tour! I'll try to make it to the show on Thursday. Andrew has been inviting me to all of their gigs, but I've always been busy with other stuff. Still all sorts of awkward because Jon hates me. Oh well.

I'm with you in that I have a historical/philosophical interest in the occult/esoteric/hermetic/magick/ritual world. Really interesting stuff! I have a few friends that are into it on a much more serious level. Really interesting to learn about/talk about. All that said, I'm quite athiest, so depending on the area of study, it often goes no further than a academic/aesthetic interest.

Yes, I am also a nonbeliever in gods. I acknowledge I could be wrong, but I've never had cause to default to a belief in Yahweh, Ba'al, Odin, Zeus, Vishnu or any other deity. I also feel there is no legitimate reason to say any one of these gods is real and the others are false.

However, my understanding of "magick" (such as it is) is that, fundamentally, it is the idea that the human will, through focus of energy, etc., can affect change on the world around you. I'm not sure this isn't possible and I think some aspects of this concept actually jibe with current findings in physics, where we increasingly see that the very act of observing the world around us has an effect on the world around us.

Anyways, it's an interesting subject to me. I collect books on this stuff, have a few decks of tarot (because I think they are beautiful objects--I don't really "read" them)...I think my adult interest in this sort of thing stems from my childhood obsession with horror comics and horror movies...

Well, good news. I got an email from Amazon telling me that the Christmas Lights I bought and decorated my room with are a potential fire hazard, and they gave me a $32 credit. And it turns out Sam Ash sells through Amazon, so I can apply that to the Fuzzz Boxx, so I can get it for under $50. SUCK ON THAT, SH!TTY SALESPERSON.

A sealed cab is never going to be quite as 'efficient' as it's equivalent in a ported cab. Kinda depends on whether you like the other benefits of a sealed design. What we did with the '1822' prototype was to use a very overbuilt speaker. It's pretty darn sensitive, handles gobs of power, high XMax and has a frequency response of 30hz-3k. Once you account for reduced low end in a sealed box (ANY sealed box), and back off the wattage estimates to account for the thermal aspects of the sealed thing, this still nets out pretty darn good. Low end is really strong before it starts tapering off at around 60hz, I can run my biggest amps with no problems and it sounds really nice. If I were to compare it to a high quality single woofer 15" cab, the 1822 wins, for what I like. With all of that in mind, I think the 218 should be an absolute beast, IF you buy into the sealed thing. I love it, but don't expect everyone to agree with me there

hey @dunwichamps my guitarist is excited over the idea of a DA120.. will you be doing one of your small runs of those any time soon?

Sign me up man, you build a sealed 218 prototype and ill make the trip down to try it out, id buy something like this over a dually anyday, for 18s are a real mans speaker...hell, make a ported version and ill take one of each. With Peavey silver stripe styling .

To answer this for you, cause Ive asked him like a thousand times...hes not doing a small run of these. Its almost done being in the prototype phase and waiting on artwork, once all the kinks are worked out, itll be going straight into production through Magick pedals with the other Dunwich pedals. No clue when that is though...soon hopefully, or I may pull the trigger on a Lone Wolf LWA120. But Id rather give my moneyz to Nick than that guy, his" I AM GOD" attitude on FCOAW kinda rubs me the wrong way sometimes...
