Live at Brixton is such a great live album. ***** all over Live at the Aragon from a vocal perspective. But in saying that, their performances of "Crack the Skye" and "Mother Puncher" on the Live at the Aragon LP rank as two of the best Mastodon performances I've heard.

I'm so happy I was able to score the Live at Brixton records on Record Store Day. Australia in general is notoriously poopie at getting any decent releases each year.

I have had a CIJ mustang, and own an affinity bronco, epiphone EB-0 with replacement vintage correct mudbucker and most recently a squier bass vi (which will let me ditch the other two).

You're gonna have to shop online for strings and you'll find most are .90-.95 and very few give a .100 string. D standards never been an issue just tuning down from E. If I was already tuned to D from the get go I'd probably set it up like so and it'd probably get lower with less issue.

I did C standard with the mustang and a set of thomastik flats and it wasn't that great. Tuned the stock strings on the EB-0 to BEAD and it was floppy but I could tell a slightly thicker set and a setup would have probably got me a passable B. I will say prepare for less tension over all but never an issue and your wrists might be happier.

I play short scale almost exclusively now. I concur with Askrere, it's going to boil down to the string gauge that you use. Better start scoping out some bridge construction sites, you're going to need some cables.

Hey Julian, where all do You have it listed at? I still list stuff to sell here, every so often, and it moves but not near as fast as it used to. FWIW, I've heard that reverb.com place is pretty okay, as they don't hit You quite as hard on the fees and hidden costs like ebay does.

This is replacing all my basses currently.

I will check it out. I loved my BFR and Stingray, but I wont play them much anymore. I would rather get another Dingwall, or spend it on gear/life at this point than hold on to them.

I have been playing active basses for so long I forgot how good a passive bass sounds. This AB1 has dual split coils, so like a double P. Neck is solid P tone, series is crazy growly, parallel is like a hot jazz sound, Bridge is kind of musicman sounding. Add in the passive tone switch, and the tone knob and there are a lot of good sounds to be had.

Still kind of looking at one of these for an active Dingwall.
