loving the mastodon live at brixton. troy's tone is more present than normal - i imagine that's the lack of muff and his new signature bass adding that midsy clean sound.
his playing really stands out in Capillarian Crest and songs with super fast bass runs - i haven't had a drive to learn to be a better bass player for a while, but i might have to start working on riffs like that!
Live at Brixton is such a great live album. ***** all over Live at the Aragon from a vocal perspective. But in saying that, their performances of "Crack the Skye" and "Mother Puncher" on the Live at the Aragon LP rank as two of the best Mastodon performances I've heard.
I'm so happy I was able to score the Live at Brixton records on Record Store Day. Australia in general is notoriously poopie at getting any decent releases each year.
