To a certain extent yes. I think Ron had some issues (Also very low tuning and massive SPL's) with tube power sections not being tight enough with such low tunings, which made him go to massive solid state power sections. I'm sure he can give more details. I'm by no means in his ballpark as for as tuning/SPL goes. I tune in BEAD, and play smallish venues.

Right you will run out of head room eventually, but that will happen with every amp. That isnt a specific to tube amps, it depends on the implementation and available power of the amp.

What do you mean by playability?

Are you big handed? I know your used to the fiver so it would probably be a shock going there just like it was not cool playing the tony levin 5er I was flipping, having jammed that bronco exclusively for over a year.

Fanned frets, wide neck, thinner front to back than I am used to, and longer scale. I am not big handed, but I still feel like the neck on my dingwall feels really good.

You will have a lot of low mids for sure. Really depends on what you want out of your rig. What amp are you using?

If it works for you, then play what works.

I dont think there are many in this thread with fEARful cabs. Myself, Ron, mbelue. There are a few more guys with Duallies and basics though.
