ok... so we played a show last night.
I find Im CONSTANTLY getting really nervous right before we go on now because it seems like EVERY band we are playing with now are just SUPER SOLID and awesomely good. The opener last night just left my jaw at my knees and I thought "goddammit!! we gotta follow that??!!". Its inspiring, humbling, and nerve wracking. The good thing was I had at least a dozen people come up to me afterwards and one of them said "HOLY HELL you guys always sound soooooo good live!". Its nice to hear... but the coolest thing, and this was a real surprise, was of them about half a dozen just raved to me about how good in particular my rig sounded and two bassists came up to me together and were complimenting the hell out of my technique!! I was floored, because I HONESTLY think Im solidly the worlds okayest bassist and nothing more and I feel at times kinda sloppy and had at least a few little finger farts throughout our set, but these two guys were telling me how they noticed I play with a really light but expressive touch yet still can rock the shag out and that they really dug it. Felt really nice to hear.
(btw.. im not bragging, just feeling a little amazed and humble... it was a real fun show!)
