Funny enough I thought the same thing about the drums. Really interesting and just works perfectly for this album.

Check out Deep Politics and The Black Tar Prophecies I-VI.

They really don't have a bad album though.

I'll halfheartedly argue against you, stating that you want access to those controls. Taking the case off to tweak midrange is a PITA, and the missing control is a midrange suck you'd never use anyway. :)

Spring in the woods. Found an awesome park with a friend. Front is totally meh, then really weird then meh, then keep going and boom crazy forests for miles and miles. Shame I can't post the panoramic.

Being from California and having lived in the foothills of the sierra most of my childhood, I never imagined "forrest" in Texas. We have our desert areas here as well but that part of the state is chock full of suck.

No dense redwood forests, but we have woods for sure. Depends on the area. My parents home around austin is mostly a hill country mix of scrubby cedars, live oaks and mesquites. Then there's the pine belt, and where I was today was weird so many different areas in such a relatively small area. A slight elevation or distance from water change completely altered everything there.

Just had the first jam with a new start up band, really think this has potential to be fun. Just the one guitarist, so I have a lot of space to play and mess with sounds. The drummer isn't so versed in doom/ stoner style stuff, but he's one of those really intense math-genius kind of guys, so hopefully he'll just go on some sort of reclusive bent and get really good.

So, I didn't know this before, but we were about to break into one last song at our last gig, but my guitarist gave me the "kill it" hand gesture. So I thought we just didn't have time. Turns out, his two week old Hovercraft poopie the bed. He told me last night at practice when I asked him where it was. The filter caps? (yeah, I don't know a ton about tube amps) are f'd. It wasn't biased correctly before shipping, is the keyboard tech's guess. He still has to send pictures to them to see what they are going to do.
