It's funny when you are in your forties you can't wait to be 65 just so you don't have to go to work anymore.

By my calculations, I have about 125,000 more hours to work before I retire, or die which ever comes first.
Plus you are working 80 hours a week so you are two guys waiting to retire, sheesh!
When I worked at the prison I used to think ok 8 hours a day for 30 or so years means I would have to serve like a 7 year sentence behind bars to retire from there if I would of stayed working there.
I haven't owned any of the RB's unfortunately but my bud in Cosmonaut uses a 400B, the real old schooler, he's got 2 actually and a horizontal power switch 800RB. He mainly uses a Fulltone Mosfet Bassdrive and or a Demon with a Mercy Phuk thrown in here and there. Uses all jazz basses with the Duncan Hot Stack neck pickup. The bridge pickups aren't even connected. Also uses stainless steel strings, mainly the DDT's. Dudes got the best tone in town. That definitive GK sound. Depending on your tuning try out the DDT's or I've been digging the D'addario Pro Steels. Scoop a Demon.
Actually you would get stuck doubles there pretty often and couldn't leave and had to eat the prison food, oh it was a nasty job, I don't miss it one bit. I was staff and man it makes you never ever want to commit a crime.
My "light day" this week will be Saturday. 11am-12am. No breaks, no meals, "better piss and sh!t before your shift", going to serve a bajillion people...

I could probably pursue social security disability, but i couldn't live off it and I don't feel it's something to aspire to.
Gonna be applying for a job in Arizona. Wasn't planning to move so soon, but it pays quite well. At least we wouldn't be struggling so much check to check. Plus we'd get out of Oklahoma again.

I had the Joyo UD but never really bonded with it but maybe I should get my hands on a Demon. I want to get another Fender Sublime, that thing was so versatile and I sold it because it was silly big and sounded lousy on guitar. Overdrive to heavy fuzz with a twist of the dial. I have a set of Daddario 120's balanced tension to swap on now but maybe I will give the steels a shot next time. I never liked bright strings before but pretty sure the dude had steels on his 64 and it sounded massive. I know the Gibson Thunderbird pups are pretty tubby-round sounding so there is that to deal with too. I need to buy or build a second bass.
Yeah I am in the same boat the chronic migraines have me pretty bad off with work and life but I don't want to go down that disability route either. Jealous I want to get out of the humid eastern USA, I think that might be my biggest migraine trigger too, I think? Finger crossed you land the job.
Yeah I have the Grey Scale Devices Hellcat. I don't think he makes the full blown model like I have anymore. $50 GC used bin find. Besides the three clipping sections it also has two gain stages, normal, and balls out mode. I don't even know what the diode switches are labeled to what setting I just switch till it sounds good. But yeah clicking on the Hellcat with the GK was the yeah I heard that sound before kind of thing.
I feel like this got lost and it's an important comment.
Super smart dogs like Border Collies, Sheepdogs, any kind of herding dog, etc need near-constant stimulation. They ARE smart, but they're also highly energetic and will get into trouble if they're not occupied with some kind of complex game or task.

One of the two rescue dogs we have that we can't keep in the house is part Australian Cattle Dog. I feel bad she lives outside but she would tear my house to shreds when not supervised. So be warned Bryce. She is the one that opens any box that is delivered to my house. I had to tell the UPS and Fedex guys to just leave it on the front porch. They want to hide it on the side porch but Ayla will find it and destroyed it, but at least she only destroys the outer box and never damaged a pedal or anything else...yet.

You gents sold me, I just ordered a set of Prosteels 110's for the Jazzguarbird. Need to do a setup on it anyway so time for some fresh strings.
Noooo.....that means you have a pet that will get bored really quickly, and bored dogs, especially high energy ones like this, will find ways, usually destructive, to be entertained.
