Yeah, you dont really see them for less than 300+shipping anymore. As soon as the guy posted it, I was like I shouldnt think about it too long or someone else will buy it first. I bought it less than 10 mins after he posted it.

I cant wait to hear what this thing does for bass...

Thanks brother. I have really strange migraines, daily chronic headaches and then a trigger they can lead to eyestabbers as I call them. I have been seeing several specialists for years with no luck. I think weather and allergies/sinuses swell my cavities and they pinch my trigeminal nerve is my best guess. The aura is the real devil, like today I am in la la land, dizzy and reading my work over and over again so I don't make mistakes. Triptans work but that is about it. I feel like that animal that knows a storms is coming so it eats and then beds down, but that is me wanting to munch on fast food while driving to Arizona LOL.

Jesus. Yeah "eyestabbers" is a good name for it. I don't know how you deal because the last time one visited me I was thinking "I'm glad I don't currently own a firearm because I'd be thinking real hard about just wiping this pain out."

Not to be all dark and chit, but...jesus.

Thanks for the tips on the bands, I will check them out. Probably saying Americana was probably the wrong genre although some bands seem to hit on that sound. I guess Indie Rock? is what I was really looking for.

Hmmm...I don't listen to a lot of current stuff that ISN'T heavy. I wish I had more suggestions...the last time I was really up on current stuff that was more laid back or poppy was 15 years ago or so.

I stumbled on Stardeath and White Dwarfs today, that is more trippy, I had no idea they did the Dark Side of the Moon tribute with The Flaming Lips.

This came up several pages back. I grew up with The Flaming Lips--as a band, I mean...I didn't know the guys before they were a band but I was at some of their first shows and was a longtime fan and friend...even humped gear for them for awhile.

Anyway, this is from 5 years ago or so. I think it's a nice cover that beats the original by a landslide...

I'm not sure what you mean. It was basically a one man operation (Mark Linkous, who committed suicide a few years back) along with whatever musicians he decided to work with on each album/project.

Maybe THAT is what you mean?

16 Horsepower is primarily acoustic, very dirge-y.

I really need to take the time to check them out. My best friend is a huge fan and he hates almost everything.

Related to 16 horsepower is Wovenhand - not exactly mellow, not really heavy - but awesome.

Wow, what an odd coincidence. My friend who's into 16Hp just sent me this same link a day or two ago. I hadn't even cracked it open yet. Didn't realize it was 16Hp related.

Haven't heard of Voices. Will look into it...

We rented "Imitation Game" with Benedict Cumberbatch and Kiera Knightley. Great story, meh film IMO.

We also rented a movie with Anthony Hopkins about the kidnapping of Fred Heineken, heir to the beer fortune. But we didn't get around to watching it.

We have Birdman with Michael Keaton waiting for us, but it's been crazy and kind of somber around the casa.

Get this--last Thursday my stepson's girlfriend's father died. Saturday morning, my wife's best friend's mother died. Yesterday morning my stepson's grandmother died. All were sudden and unexpected.

I am glad this chit only happens in threes, right? Am I right?

Oh hell...I should mention, I didn't actually KNOW any of these people. My wife knew two of them, so she is a bit bummed, but I don't bring it up for sympathy or anything. Just kind of cast a pall over the weekend a little, and seems strangely coincidental.

My wife's been shuttling all over Central OK consoling this person, attending a service, delivering pies and casseroles...

Ask not to whom Death's bony finger next points...

I never really pushed the boost more than 3 or 4. All depends on the cab and your ear. I'm not sure what side it's boosting.

From the GK Sim pedal thread, (if I got this correct) the "boost" adds another gain stage after the effects loop, i.e. at the very end of preamp. (you might want to read that yourself, it was technical)

It's a dirty boost after the preamp. Sounds awesome. Gives a nice low mid grind. Supposed to be "vintagey".
