Holy chit! I was only joking...but, not surprised someone tried it. Wow.
Guy fixed my door for $60 and I gave him a $20 tip. Landlord gave me a new key for $8.
So $88 mistake, orrrr I just found out I can kick the scheiße out of a door like an action movie anytime I want for under a hundo. Just call Roberto!
Also had to Anne Frank my puppy from the landlord lol... I learned I can vanish away an entire puppy setup in under 10 minutes.
I also learned that my landlord is the guy who takes my checks each month... See that guy always said he wasn't my landlord. handy man says the landlords afraid of tenants finding out who he is and finding him lol so built up a fake story and works in plain sight.

Dat good Karma! Its funny how some bands just don't care and insist on playing last. I am cool with that cuz I hate it.
Im less dissappointed about how the door was split, we basically broke even this trip, which is way better than it costing us...and more peeved on the show order. Why we played last as an unknown touring band is beyond me. The place was packed all the way up to when AOS played right before us...sure they told everyone to stick around for us, but did the crowd actually stay? No, we played to the bands that had stuck around that long and maybe a handful of people. We prolly lost out on a bunch of merch sales because we played last and no one knew who we were so they left...now if we played earlier, and that packed crowd wouldve heard us, we wouldve sold a lot more merch than the little bit we did.

Out of towners should be 2nd on a three band bill, 2nd or 3rd on a 4 band bill. I like opening (or going 2nd) with MDT because we can set the bar high for the following acts.
We had a dynamite set on Sat night. Tight, very energetic, voices sounded good, PA was good and crowd was hot. Was told by two different sources that the next act said we were tough to follow. They did great, too, but I appreciated the compliment anyway.

I'll usually insist on handing over the door money to anyone from out of town. I've had band members oppose me on this, that happens I'll give them their cut, tell them to stop shaging whining about ten bucks and give the rest to the out-of-towners.
I was In GC the other day and got a chance to play with an old silverface baseman and I was really blown away by the sound. I'm wondering how one of these would work in a doom context. I'm also wondering if the current reissue is on par. Thoughts?
I forget which is which, something to do with linear or non linear... but one type of old fender stays clean the whole way up, put your fav fuzz in front and doom it up...the other type of old fender breaks up real nice, crank dat sofanabeech and doom it up. Either way itll doom.
Just seems common sense, decency, and karma to give the best time slot and door money to those on the road. That way they can do the same for you when you hit their town.

They sound awesome, but I think you'll find them underpowered for doom purposes. I think they're 60-70W.
Maybe two of them, each with huge cabs might work?
Otherwise look into the new Bassman 100T or 300.
I've got one, you're welcome to test drive it. Its entirely functional, but I get a weird fuzz when I first power it up on the repeats that goes away after a couple minutes. It's good, but if I have the floor space, I prefer to use my M13.
People seem to love the new 100T - but I have no experience with it.
I doubt 100w would be loud enough to really doom without decent PA support. I used to own a siverface bassman 70. It was a decent amp but it lacked low end. I think there are far better options out there. I have no knowledge of the reissues, but I cannot imagine them being leagues apart.

Their bassist was managing to get by with a 100-120 watt orange head.
Forgot to ask, what band do play in? I was debating on going but Bongzilla was just about the only band I knew/wanted to see. And I play shows with those guys side projects on a somewhat regular basis so i decided to save my cash. I have to say my favorite band from the Bongzilla saga/world is a tie between Cuda or Mikeys new band Dos Males.
A 120w Orange is a little different than a 100w Bassman. Oranges usually have a decent amount of gain and are fairly bright. The Bassman, if it is the silverface, is very clean sounding. The orange would cut far better. I am not saying it cannot be done. I am just saying that you will need decent PA support. Are you playing the same stage you saw Bongzilla play? I know that if I tried to use a 100w tube amp at a show with my band, I would be entirely drowned out. My band is a little ridiculous with the stage volume, but my very conservatively rated 120w Sunn 2000s (closer to 200w) is barely enough for rehearsals against two half stacks.
I actually played that same stage that night. Perhaps a few stomps could correct the gain problem? One of the reasons I'm into the bassmans (bassmen?) too is cause they're cheap compared to other tube amps of the era.
