I had a mate who locked his keys in his car and smashed the window instead of calling roadside assist for no reason at all, so at least you had an excuse.
Not that I have a need for moar amps (really I do, because who doesn't?) but I have a deal in the works for an SVT-CL. Newerish model, but still MIA. The guy is only asking $650. There is a buyer who has made first claim, but has been unresponsive for 10 days now. I am next in line and the seller is giving him until wednesday before sending it my way. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one.
Last show we put on, we gave all the out of town guys the pot. Last show we played out of town, we got hooked up. Biggest payday ever. As for order, out of town guys should never have to open or close. Sometimes it happens, but always talk about it first. Prime time seems to be second. We like playing second.

Saturday was the local big university's graduation. 20,000 people down town. Worked a brutal 13 hour shift with zero breaks, straight service. I was burger yesterday, and not feeling a lot better today sitting on this bench today. Going to be stiff tonight at work.

I was in flip flops and got it open first try. I looked up how to do it just now, and I was dead on weirdly, save they did it facing the door. I did a mule kick like a jackass
So I recently learned about something called the "The Despecialized Edition". It's a fan-edit of Star Wars OG Trilogy, which puts things back the way they were in the theaters the first time.
Anyways it's a monster file and I've a bandwidth cap at home. Anybody have ideas for how to get this without busting my cap?

I have been paid for 3 gigs in my lifetime, unless you want to count per diem from marching band trips. It has amounted to about $100. Doesn't bother me though, it usually pays for my drinks and I just want to make music with people. Making music for people is 2nd fiddle.

I wiped them down a bit but, mostly, I've just been lucky to nab heads in good functioning & cosmetic shape.
I gigged from about 1982-2000. Many of those early gigs were just local punk band things. Rarely made any $. Later on I ended up doing better, sometimes making a semi-decent living off gigs, but I worked my ass off and played in 3 bands simultaneously part of that time.
One of my good friends was playing professionally for several years not that long ago...they toured regionally, recorded (he also does pro recording sessions) and opened for bigger acts. He's been in bands that opened for Willie Nelson and some other big name country acts. He told me that at his peak he could bring down $4K per month just making music.
That's not a common story and he couldn't keep up the pace. He got tired of road life real quick. Having done a little regional touring, I totally understand this. It can be great fun, but it is also work.
As a person who sells big pieces of glass framed in wood to fill up most of your wall space, let me assure you that the social contract and the inconvenience of crime is mostly what's keeping you safe. Sleep tight!
My Current peaveys were super clean too.
I've gotten a few nasty ones and a brass bristle brush and a gentle natural cleanser (target brand) did wonders. Peavey tolex is tough, but holds dirt like no other.
