so i took a hurried photo on my way to work that turned out hilariously bad, but this is the messy state of affairs so far. the photography is an artistic reflection of its state of completion. need to mount the power supply tonight, have to bust out the drill and do some man work. and i need to pick up a reverse polarity converter for the cthulhu - it's been running off the same battery for months though haha.

i'm considering ditching the pitchblack and getting the new sledgehammer pro clip on tuner. saves on board space, and money, and those things are damn accurate.
the RAT king is pretty god damn cool. it's everything i've wanted in a RAT - hi/lo clipping control, diodes and diode blend, and switchable from lo to hi gain. plenty of level on tap too which my other RAT clones i've had have been sorely lacking in.
the feedback loop is pretty hilarious and extremely unpredictable. using it with the RAT only is the best option or it just freaks out completely when being fed with lots of fuzz. holding the momentary and moving the pot with my foot creates some insane tones - can't wait to add a delay to the mix.
in other news, Stone the Crows is soon changing names, and we're now all doing some singing. and maybe wearing shirts for shows. weird.
Yeah, big ole swollen ones at that. Amp sold. He waited for his cousin to get off his ass. I emailed him and told him that I didn't appreciate being jerked around for an amp that was never actually for sale and that it was a waste of both our time. Not that it will change anything, but it made me feel a little better about it. Oh well. Tomorrow is a new day for hunting sweet gear deals.
I really shouldn't be surprised by a CL tease. IDK if it is consistent everywhere else, but in STL and surrounding areas, CL is generally filled with a buncha bullsh. RARELY anything worth while and everyone seems to think that their item is incredibly valuable and refuses to bargain.
But when I post all my stuff is assumed to be worthless! That $200 pedal? I'll give you $20. Oh, and I know you don't want trades, but how about a beater Fender?

is there a greenboy equivalent for guitar cabs? or any recommendations for plans for a DIY 2x12?
Guitar cabs are pretty forgiving, since they don't really require huge low end and it's not generally desirable for them to have a flatter frequency response. There are certainly different designs that achieve different results better (oversized, sealed vs open back, "detuned" cabs). There are some builders that have touted highly engineered designs, but since they're usually kind of small operations a lot of them have tended to implode when they start getting big.
Thanks, i just did a bit of reading myself and it sounds like pretty much any open-back cabinet would work. I like it when things are easy.
Most DIY guitar cabs boil down to "take some measurements of one you like and copy that". Honestly, that does work pretty well usually. I mean, you need some basics on cabinet building, but there's tons of youtube videos out there to reference that are decent.
This. Everyone wants $1200 for an american standard but if you want to sell an item that regularly goes used for $1000, no one will offer you more than $400.

There's a black on black affinity pj at work that's calling my name. Never been a fender guy, but i think a p would be better for the new band. It's cheap but upgradeable. Tuning is an issue in the new band, we're bouncing between C standard drop A, the ATK doesnt like drop tuning so i think i want a 4 string set up for C. Decisions.

I have some 212 plans drawn up for a sealed vertical 212. I can dig them up if you want.
Not a lot of advances to be had using standard 12" guitar drivers.

After what I read about Terror Bass, I was amazed that I can easily turn it down to home playing levels. It's not very noisy, but I live in city center, so I got quite a lot of noise from behind my window
I love it so far, tube overdrive sounds great, even on low volume, it seems to like my basses and pedals.
