Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Of all those guitars mentioned, I have decided I wantneedlust for a dano U2 and the aftermarket gotoh sitar bridge so bad now.

GAS is very bad now... In a perfect world I'll have all these perfect working specimens, even if I couldn't possibly find time to use them all enough lol. Really I need to decide what I can/should keep.

J turser electric reso
Dano sitar guitar
Telecaster
Baritone

Bronco (rounds)
Bass vi (flats)
Roadstar (flats) b standard
Jag SS PJ (Flats) b standard
Jazz bass (rounds)
Longhorn bass (rounds)

Out of every piece of equipment I've sold I probably miss my Longhorn the most. I tried both flats and rounds on it. The flats seemed to bring out it's uniqueness most.
Really cool bass.

I must admit that after latest acquisitons, I'm completely GAS free. AND pretty broke :D Probably gonna move a few pedals I don't use plus old combo amp and the Squier PJ with flats I stopped using. Only problem is, it turns out it's easier to buy a lefty bass than to sell it.
I'm pretty much content with my setup right now. It's as close to the tone in my head as I can get at the moment.

Had a proposition to play in a band from a guy I used to know. But it's probably shanties, pretentious radio friendly punk rock or other shvt like that, so I'm gonna pass. Plus, the guy's a douche. A good multiinstrumentalist, but a complete and utter drama queen and a douche.

May 1st is a free day here, but guess what: the weather was great the whole week, today it's raining cats and dogs.

Volatile work situation. Possible shooter. Lockdown. Police are watching the dudes house. Apparently, the only thing he had in his life was his job and his gun collection. He just got fired yesterday....

Stay safe!

In my discussions with HR yesterday, I learned that upon leaving the company they will pay out in full my entire bank of vacation pay. 6 weeks and counting banked up right now.

Good day for music and/or video games.

Yikes. Stay safe dude.

Your not alone muddslide...
My taxes were just under 10K this year.
I purged over 6K of stuff in three weeks.
Lost a little weight in the process. Mostly stress related.
I'm hanging buy a thread. Still have a few items for sale.

Dear bob in heaven. I usually get a small federal return that is mostly eaten up by what I owe the state.

I have had jobs with much better pay but they have also been in areas with a much higher COL.

It sucks for most average people these days. We've always been frugal but seems like increased income often comes with increased expenses...in my case often trying to clear off debt.

Fortunately we don't have credit card debt but i have a student loan...many medical bills, etc.

I had ordered some parts for my Mexican P bass so I'll just use them to rebuild my SX P.

I actually think i will miss the Lotus P more than the MIM. No time for CL on anything but the MIM...all the cheaper crap will just go to a local pawn shop / guitar store where I originally bought the Lotus. If they won't gimme at least $50 for it i will keep it.

On the flip side we have a date to record 7 to 8 songs next month.
Before that a birthday bash with My Victim, Mudface and us Six Sixty Six.

That is cool as hell. Looking forward to the tracks and have a great birthday show.

I'd be a lot happier if I could jam with some people again or better yet be gigging, but I ain't giving up yet. Just a setback.

Back to elementary school for me - Had a post up about tuning but I think I had part of wrong.

Anyway, I'm gonna get some big-ass strings that are designed for drop tuning and tune the 5-string to ACGCF. That should cover me for both tunings that the guitar players want to do - I can ride the open C and still play the drop A stuff with minimal transposing.

I'm resisting the urge to buy guitar player #1 a tuner. Kind of a dick move but it's sorely needed.

I also want to let him use my Rat - he's got a JCM800 but he's plugging an early 90's vintage multi-fx into it for dirt. LM308 Rat > JCM800 would be godly. Don't want to be a dick about it though. Ugh. His setup doesn't sound bad, but it could sound amazing. I'm not using the Rat, hell even the OD Glove would probably be awesome going into that Marshall.
