Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Your not alone muddslide...
My taxes were just under 10K this year.
I purged over 6K of stuff in three weeks.
Lost a little weight in the process. Mostly stress related.
I'm hanging buy a thread. Still have a few items for sale.
On the flip side we have a date to record 7 to 8 songs next month.
Before that a birthday bash with My Victim, Mudface and us Six Sixty Six.

Based on pic #2 I'm more concerned about severe neck issues.
I think pic #2 is his riff-gasm look.
Is it bolt on? Not that i could score it, obviously, but always wanted a bolt nevk Ric copy. An old friend of mine used to have an unbranded one and it was killer.
I'd rather have a bolt on Ric copy than a real Ric.
Kinda funny story...that friend of mine with the fake Ric...one night his band and mine were playing in Baton Rouge. He was shirtless and had written "Fvck Me Over Please" on his chest with Sharpie.
Well, someone took him at his word and ripped off his bass...
No thanks. I may as well get fixed. Don't think I'll ever want to go through another pregnancy. We both gained a ton while my ex was pregnant. I keep loosing and gaining it back. One nice thing recently is I've stopped drinking so much. Mostly now 2 or 3 a week not 4 or 5 a day. Plus eating better and through out the day. I feel good so going to keep on this path.
Felt like sh!t, been in bed all day. Lots of sleep and rig rundown vids. Raising the health & GAS meters.

So, if someone was to mod/build/buy a DOD 250, what would be the best option for bass? I hear the '77 DOD is a bit more mid-focused than the others. I'm thinking of buying a GGG clone, then modding the input cap so it doesn't lose any low end. Any input/experience?

The TFR was one of the first dirt pedals I picked up a couple years back but was quickly bumped by others. Yet every time I kicked it on was happy with it.
Pulled my dirt pedal post in the classifieds and set the rest up on the PT1. It's a fun zone board now with lots of options.
Guitar player noticed the LED light show last night at practice mid song and started laughing. I just smiled and said yep... It's a light show.
Drummer is disgusted that I bring a big board to practice... Didn't say anything about it this time.
Probably one of the reasons I put it back together... Back at ya man, MEH.

It's one of those pedals that I've resisted selling a long time. I honestly love it, it always sounds good, I've used it consistently on a lot of recordings and it's one of those pedals I consistently highly recommend. In reality though, I have a pile of Dunwich pedals that are the bee's knees and more even than what I need and I will probably have more in the future. So I think I'm going to stick to just the boutique and the super cheap in the future and be less of a collector. Right now I'm pretty much down to the pedals that I love, but have been functionally replaced, that know will sell super fast and have a pretty decent resale value. So it's hard to justify keeping those.
My last two steady bands I had opposite experiences with having a pedalboard. I would bring my PT Mini to the first one and get raised eyebrows and lots of "do even need all those?" (all 4 or 5, including a tuner and maybe a blend). The last band I could bring my PT2 fully loaded and it would just lead to GAS conversations. In those cases one band everyone else was older and the other everyone else was younger, respectively.
I'll likely keep the PT for home and repopulate the mini as needed for practice or gigs.
The volto frees me needing another power plug. I do have to remember to charge the damn thing though.
The thing about the drummers attitude is we are playing hardcore... It's not Pink Floyd. However it's nice the new guitar guy is a gear freak. He's the one that bought the MIJ Boss HM2 from me.
With him in the band (more of a metal guy) and working on some new songs this year, I hope to have some ambient moments with some slow DOOM riffs. Time will tell. Delay is something I want to incorporate at some point and building ideas.

A lot of hardcore players are super into the kind of gear that's traditionally been popular with the stoner rock and doom crowds now and more generally into using effects or at least dirt pedals. Stoner and doom metal seem to be a lot more fashionable with that crowd in general now.
Were all old now. Nice thing is appreciating a varied body of music as well. Seems crazy to me talking about shows we played 30 friggen years ago. I've been very happy playing again and hope to not stop like I have in the past. It's been fun digging up old songs I like and noodling riffs. Steve Harris riffs for example. Stopped listing to IM after Seventh Son. Back catalog stands, was my bench mark back in the day and now I can play some of it. 
I take the daughter to practice some times. Ear muffs on of course but I think she understands this is an important activity to me, so she tolerates it.
