Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Howdy fellas. Not much going on in the Janitor camp - just work and studying for tomorrow's English final.

Doom band practice on Friday, first jam with the drummer's other band on Sunday. Got a few covers and originals to learn before Sunday - shouldn't be too difficult.

Mostly just waiting to be done with school tomorrow and payday on Friday - checking account is looking pretty sad these days.

Is second band pretty different? I've done multiple bands before but it's usually been one original, one covers.

Well, the first band is still kind of undefined, but it's stated goal is to slow and heavy, more in the sludge/drone vein.

Second band is all different players (other than the drummer) and is squarely in the mid-late 90's stoner rock camp. Short 3-5 minute songs, fuzzy, bouncy, mid-tempo, good vibes kind of stuff. Think Nebula, FuManchu, Solarized, Roadsaw, etc.

2nd sounds a bit more MDT like, though with two guitars.

I saw a fender phaser that had the same sublime foot print and massive knob. Didn't get to try it, but what a big board it would take if you just used those two pedals.

They have one of the phasers at my local shop. I miss my Sublime, thought it was super versatile. They are silly huge. Some builder should make a small clone of it.

Man I feel like I was on vacation and it ended it disaster. We had unusually stable air pressure in Virginia for about a straight week so other then allergy headaches I didn't have any migraines. Well that ended today, the pressure is rising high and so fast today I feel like I am on a tilt-a-whirl but I am just sitting still at my desk. Man I need so need to move.

Don't envy your headaches at all, but kinda cool you can feel pressure changes. I don't know what that feels like.

...and I'm kicking more pedals off my board. I don't use chorus, I got a falling out with B3K (again) at the moment. Need to downscale a bit as I'll probably carry my TB 500 head to practices. And it's so close I can't justify to ride there.
They've got a Warwick ProFet 3.2 with a 410 cab, so I guess I'll have to bring my own head.

I can feel the pressure changes through my busted knee and believe me, you're better off not feeling it ;)

Hey! We know Oklahoma sucks. We dont need you pointing it out!

Also, due to the hernia in the midnight ghost train we will not be playing with them on friday. Pretty dissappointed that I won't get to see them. tsokay though the show will go on. It'll just be us and a couple other local bands.

$40 amp and organ. Amp needs some TLC but it's all tube, volume and vibrato. 12" Jensen I think I read but I'll explore inside later.

The organ sounds cool, dunno if I'll keep it though.
