One of my long-time coworkers has been in a local songwriting contest - he's been writing a song a week on a topic chosen by the organizers of the contest. He's been kicking ass and has made it to the final 3. Yesterday he was on the local morning news performing. I've known the kid since he was a teenager so I feel a little like a proud older brother.

Anyway, it's non-doom to the max, just a white kid with an acoustic guitar and some pretty great lyrical flow. Check it out if you're interested.

Last visit to my neuro I asked for occipital nerve blocker shots and he said but where to we put them. Which was nuts because he already shot me all up and down with botox shots hoping to stop the migraines. Like you know where to put needles doc don't whimp out on me. Hate that you have to beg doctors to fix you.
That would be a fun cover band!

Starting out with covers, might morph into doing some originals. I'm a big Husker Du fan, along with a lot of Bob Mould's solo stuff. I also have a couple of Grant Hart discs that have a couple songs I like a lot.

Gotta see what the vibe is with the guys, do a little hang, jam some stuff, see what blossoms.

This type of music is much more in the vein of what I like compared to what a lot of bands around here are doing.

that cab design you made gives me a metal boner. really cool configuration, i like the diagonal speaker config, and the width is really awesome. my 408s are 20 inches deep but only 26 wide. 6 inches wider is sweet. id totally buy a cab like that.

Thanks man, I had rough dimensions on what the Dunwich head was going to be, so that was jumping off point for the width and depth. Everything else was just trying to get enough space between and around the drivers to mount everything properly. WinISD recommends more internal volume, but the frequency plot didn't actually change that much and I don't expect any cab that actually have a huge sub output, so long as it's got the low mids to make everyone feel it thump. Like I said, we'll find out how well it works in real life. The cost of materials is kind of nuts, I'm trying to lump it in with some other projects to save money. Plus I bargain hunted a lot for good prices online.
