Every amp just has too much bass (i cant believe I wrote those words) thru an ampeg cab to me.

That cab sounds really different to me playing with people. I've played through my friend's, and it sounded okay, but I played through another one at this show my folk/rock band did in San Diego, and it sounded great, though a very different kind of great from my own cab.

I have no idea what the deal with itunes is. It is a terrible program.

And I usually like Mac stuff, but there's really no getting around that itunes is way more cumbersome than it needs to be. It only really works for me if it's the only thing running.

Finals are done, dually finally got found and reshipped, Demeter setup and gk mb500 are here as is my v50 combo (stereo potential if I get around to redoing the bass vi one day).

Need to buy a pedal case from rondo, and steal the rusty bike chain from this stolen to pieces bike skeleton in the parking lot for attachment points. Then dano board will be all squared away and max will get his pics with much more gear in the pics.

I got the bass vi to setup, and the roadstar to wire and setup for BEAD as well.

In Austin I have two black muffs, the joyo fuzz, foot switch for the v50 and the pignose to fix up then haul back.

Then I got the great bass gear testing to do at the casa (moving in June 6th the 70th anniversary of D-Day how metal!)

Once things have been chosen the great selling will occur and I'll acquire some form of cheap PA head for the monitors I got for $30, a smaller drum set, guitar for slide, and if it must be a different bass head. Then I'll have an entire band setup in my bedroom hehe.

I do like it if I'm playing my jazz bass, but nothing else really. And yeah, its only been at home jams as I haven't gotten a chance to take it to practice, BUT ive played sooo many amps and cabs over the years that I kinda know whats gonna work for me live. Im not one of those guys that has one tone for home and one for the band. I usually just take the amp straight from my music room to practice and the only knob I turn is the volume. I know the tone response that fits and fills out. Im not saying the 810 sucks by any means, just that its definitely got a "color" or personality that is not even across the range. Who knows, it may surprise me with the band.. I DO, however, love having a pair of 10s closer to my ears!

See, this is what's got me! When I first got the RT I naturally put them RT > BB and it sounded awesome, but last night I tried BB > RT and it also sounded great, but it kept the rat character, which I liked. Sounded like a mega mutant rat.

I think the only logical solution is another Bluebeard. Rat sandwich in a Bluebeard bun!

Because it is so difficult to put two 15" speakers in a cabinet especially by someone who is acknowledged by many to be a very competent builder. It won't be the exact same thing as a Dually but the fact of the matter is you put these very good speakers in a well designed cab (something Don has been doing for a long time) and it will sound good. Rickenfakers use different pickups, different wood, sometimes aren't neck through, etc. There is no comparison between the two.

I haven't bought one, yet, but there are scores of people on TB who stand by Don's work. If nothing else he is known for his excellent craftsmanship. In fact, I have read more problems with official GB builders (not all of them mind you) than I have with Don. The biggest complaints I have heard about him were his Nearful designs which he never claimed were Fearfuls.
