It's a good thing you live so far away the guys would probably kick me out to jam with you.
Ad looks good to me Corey, I'd email you if I wasn't a bass player (and lived in the area).
And they're so proud of it that there's ZERO mention of their Midwestern origins anywhere on their websites. I had to find an SFweekly article to confirm their Davenportish heritage. Not that I don't trust you Ampegfuzz, but I'm sure you understand one is a bit surprised to hear that a band from the Quad-Cities, like, um, WENT somewhere.

So, I realize I am not gonna be playing 500+ shows with a combo amp.
At the same time, it remains to be seen if and when I'll ever play any shows of any kind as much as I hope to down the road.
I do like older Peavey stuff and gigged with a TNT 150 for years. Was it the best sounding amp? No. But it was loud, did the job and was indestructible.
I also think grabbing something like the TNT in this add will at least allow me to get together and jam with a drummer buddy and another player or two.
I never have cash in hand, but I do get paid soon and will actually be in Tahlequah (where the listing is from) this weekend (assuming this is still available by then.)
What I'm thinking is, grab this deal then turn around and flip the bass.
Bass actually looks cool, and it is an MIJ 70s copy. Bolt on neck (my preference as you know) and I'm almost positive it's short scale. I have played this very model of bass way in the past.
I saw a bass identical to this (maybe in rougher shape) that sold on Reverb for $350 recently.
Obviously my thought is I might end up with more or less a free amp that at the very least has some volume. Assuming I can sell the bass quickly. It would put me in kind of a bind for several days.
Of course, have to check out the bass and amp. Will definitely haggle..."Well, I got $200 cash....that cool?"

Good ad, Only thing Id add is they gotta have "good" gear or willing to spend the money to get "good" gear and by "good" i mean LOUD enough. Aint nobody got time fer quiet practice bedroom combos.
That old TNT100 cranked will sound gnar and mos def be loud enough to hang with non thor fisted drummer and not LOUD guitarist/s.

Well, I dragged my Zebrabird out from under my bed yesterday, gave the frets a good polishing with some 0000 steel wool, dropped the action and lowered the pups, and I'm thinking it might start seeing a lot more action. I've always loved the look of the thing, but never really jived with it playing wise. The neck, coming straight from the '62 AVRI Precision always made my hand cramp up and I felt the string spacing was too narrow. After spending more time on the Jazz bass, I've grown far more used to 1.5" nuts, though I still think the spacing is a bit tight. But what I'm really, REALLY jonesing for is a Non-reverse, in either Polaris White or aged Pelham Blue. I can dream right?
I'd also love to track down one of those 8-string non-reverse birds that have popped up every once in a blue moon. Apparently Jeff Ament now owns the coral one that used to show up on TB.

One of my gear non-purchase regrets from last year was not picking up a Dean 8er a dude had for cheap via my local CL. This was the same dude from which I nabbed the 80s NJ Series Warlock for $50.

I love NR T-birds. Love to have one. Polaris White would be my choice but some of those aged Pelhams that have gone almost green are drop dead.
Never even heard of an 8-string version.
Used to have a Dean 8 string. Miss that. Very under-used instruments, 8 string basses.
I played a couple of those Westone 12'ers and they are cool but I don't know how well I'd get on with one long term, plus I'd think tuning and neck stability would be a bisshhh.
It's always kind of hilarious to read the internet experts weighing in with a bunch of horsesh*t. I was watching a bunch of Acid King videos and was kind of wondering what tuning they play in, so I searched online for a couple minutes. I found a video of a guy playing along with a couple songs and nailing it pretty reasonably, so I look below to see if he mentioned the tuning. It's wall to wall jerks saying things like "you're playing stupid one finger drop tuning, learn to do it in standard like the real f*cking band does or just give up guitar!". Every single video of Acid King...Lori playing in the one finger drop tuning power chord, super clearly, up close, facing the camera, I'm sure sounding 100 times better than all those chumps bands put together.
Basset Hounds are so awesome. I can't imagine having another type of dog. I love how smart and independent they are, and they just don't give a fvck.
The same armchair quarterbacks that talk poopie about non fender basses and playing with a pick, no doubt.
