Start a family doom project...Jucifer has been living the riff nomadic life for over a decade now with fromnwhat ive heard like 9 dogs/cats with great success.Always pictured you as a pumpkin or turquoise type.
Seriously, that looks cool though. I just hain't campin' like I used to.
May have mentioned this, but my wife really wants to wait until our older daughter leaves home then buy an RV and live in it full time.
There are things I sincerely like about the idea, but I have serious reservations.
1. I don't know how well three humans and two dogs can live full time in a trailer or vehicle that's, what, say 30' X 10' without killing each other.
2. I'm very skeptical that it would actually be cheaper than renting or buying a home. Consider the payment on the RV, the insurance, lot/camping fees to keep it parked somewhere by the week or monthly or whatever, not to mention gas, propane, running a jenny...
2b. If we got a fifth wheel, those are cheaper, but you have to have a vehicle to haul them (which we also don't have.) If you get a Class C, you'd have to tow a vehicle all the time, they get like 5 miles per gallon, lots can go wrong under the hood with them and they ain't cheap.
3. I'm not very materialistic and we don't own much stuff since that flood. But I don't know if I want to pare down all my belonging to 3 books, one CD folder of music and DVDs, a bass and micro amp and a knapsack full of clothes.
I just, really, at heart don't like the idea of an RV being our home. Wife thinks it's our only hope somehow. I don't think it's necessarily The Answer though I like the idea of owning something that, if we could pay it off quick enough and we could afford it, would at least be OURS and if things got real rough or we decided to move across country we wouldn't have to worry about selling a house or packing everything we own into a moving van, then getting where we are going and having to shell out for rent, deposits on a rent place, deposits on utilities, etc., etc.
What's an old doom dude to do, dudes?
Which makes me jealous, I seriously want to tour so bad, nothing sounds more fun than being trapped in a wagon/van by day and playing music at night for a week-month straight. Even with all the problems that may arise during tours, I know its a challenge I can conquor. I just dont know how to do it or where to begin to plan it. And I feel my chance to do something like that will basically be null if/when I find another full time job/start my career. Until then im pretty free time wise... and GH is a project that I think could pull it off. I just dont know how to book it being such a new band, the few shows weve booked I always feel like Im begging to get us on the bill. How does a band book a month long tour with shows basically every night, it seems like the star have to align to make it possible.
