Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Spent most of the weekend re doing our practice space after water damage but didn't seem to make a whole lot of progress other than getting one large hanging shelf and a new drum riser built.
Hope to get the space squared away tonight since we have a show tomorrow and would like to get a quick warm up practice in before the show.

NAD $40 Great shape but was missing 4 corners and a handle.

Welp, got myself a small jam amp over the weekend. Picked up a Yorkville XM100 combo, single 15, for use jamming the alt-rock in a guy's basement. Didn't get the super deal, didn't get hosed. Was going to pull the trigger on a bigger amp, but figured if we ever get out to gig, I'll just use the Peavey combo 300.

Yep, it's got a good rep as a guitar amp in heavy music circles. If it's in good shape and working well, that's a decent price.

Looks like a guitar amp... could be a killer bass amp though.

I figure it's not gonna be hard to get rid of, and I could walk to the guys place from mine. Dually comes today so might be a good mix together for the bass vi, or just lower volume jamming.

Man, I really thought my Beta Bass head was going to sell really quick and it's the last thing left from my spring gear cleaning. People have been offering to buy it off me as long as I've had it and I had like half a dozen half hearted offers. By which I mean "ohhh man, I really want to buy that!"...guess everyone is just broke right now. I'm starting to think about just keeping it now, since it's still in practically new shape and only going up in value, but I never ever use it.

Put it Reverb.com if you haven't already. Post a reasonable price on there and you'll undercut everyone else by a longshot.

Maybe, I'm going to let the local CL and and the few forum posts I have sit for a bit first. The weird thing is I haven't seen almost any other Beta Bass heads for sale anywhere lately, so there's not much competition. I priced it at $500 shipped, which seems to be what the last 5 on ebay sold for. Plus, mine isn't rehouse or missing half the knobs or anything, it's in really nice shape. Eh, I can't complain, I just sold like 3 other big pieces of gear lately. This is just the last holdout of stuff I'm not using.

I bet you love it with the Dually and your Vi.

Amp acquired, it sounds awesome and has awesome features. The guys also an amp tech and gave me his card and said I can take it back for work if I have an issue.

I made a discovery of terrible terrible though today... My drunken injuries were most likely sustained by me waking up and violently puking blindly all over my bass vi and a few other things and destroying the rug that really pulled the room together.

I have to totally dismantle the thing and deep clean it, I also caused a crack in the body/paint near the jack plate.

Did a chunk disposal, though the deep shameful cleaning comes tonight...

Had I been home yesterday maybe I would have seen it... I guess I got my wallet back, but my karma wasn't perfect.

Damn, dude that's nasty.

Over all the years that I've been playing/owning gear, drinking heavily and drinking while playing I can say that I've never puked on any of my gear. I've bled all over my drums and one of my old basses, but never puke.

Also, good thing you woke up - be careful out there, you don't want to go out like a rockstar choking on vomit while being too shaged up to wake up and realize that you're dying.

Hmm, maybe we're starting to see some backlash against the ridiculous price increases that vintage Sunn gear has seen over the last several years.

I always try to go by the average price of things that have actually sold. There has been some crazy overpriced Sunn stuff around, but I would never ask $1K for it or something ridiculous like that...even if the prices did go that high. I'm sometimes flexible on price when I sell amps too, but I haven't even had any lowball offers. Well, I was holding it for the asking price shipped right after I listed it, but that fell through after 2 weeks of waiting.
