Yup. I'm more into listening to Beefheart, but have a great admiration for Zappa and own a lot of his work.
I prefer Zappa's instrumental material over his vocal stuff usually.
The Mothers of Invention's "Weasels Ripped My Flesh" is one my favorite albums of all time.
I need to revisit some of the Beefheart stuff- it didn't appeal to me when i was younger.
I also prefer Zappa's instrumental stuff, especially the guitar albums, which feature spectacular bass playing from Barrow, O'Hearn, and Thunes.
Zappa's ultra-clean tone on the 1988 tour is probably my favorite guitar tone of all time.

GAS is a terrible, terrible thing
Heat wave started here yesterday. Low 100s, so it might not be a heat wave for some of you guys, but I just don't function in these temperatures. I eagerly expect big azz storms that always follow.
I ordered a carvin dcm3800l to run with the mostly harmless. I'm hoping that this will be enough power to level small villages.

it's 100° overnight here. 120° during the day. went to the beach for the first time yesterday. the water was piss hot.

90 is pretty common in Summer. It was 95 yesterday, today is supposed to be even hotter. Humidity is pretty high too, I feel like I'm swimming in the air.

Got some quality time with the bass rig yesterday, added bass to a track that one of the guitarists sent over and played along to a few practice reocrdings. Supposed to have practice tonight, still making progress...

Oh, by the way - if anyone's looking for a really nice tube DI - the SVT-2PRO sounds killer!
Post EQ - adjustable output - seriously the nicest direct tone that I've ever experienced.
So, if you're in the market for a 85lb, 4RU, all-tube DI - the 2PRO is the way to go! (I've heard that it's also a fairly ok bass amp.)

Huff a bunch of gasoline then talk into a recorder. Play it back later and see if anything sounds good. Repeat as needed.

I would never have thought Poland would hit those temps. Here in the Midwest the weather has been interesting to say the least. It has basically rained for the last month and the past few days have been low to mid 80s. Very unusual. I guess global warming really is an illusion of liberal creation.
Yeah, it's been a wet, humid spring in Wisconsin so far. I'm glad we're getting a lot of rain, but it's been putting a serious damper on the weekend outdoor adventures.
