Man, that is hot. Love white/white/maple. I hate active pups though. Let him put the passives back in or, like you say, see if he wants to keep all the pups and sell it to you cheaper unloaded.
Lordy. Been ages since I saw Melvins. Sometime in the 90s woulda been the last time. Dallas somewhere. I'd drop everything to see them.
Yeah, I'm gonna ask my wife's input too. She's a musician and has good taste. In my head I just see the black with white or cream pickup covers looking really nice, but one of the torts might be hotter. I've actually got two reddish tort guards that look a lot different from each other, so...options.
Easy to swap out too.
Weird thing is, I'm not sure how I ended up with so many P bass pickguards. I have a couple of white ones too. I have no recollection of where some of them came from and I can't have had them that long.
Guess I need to send some $ to TB so I can list in the classifieds. Not much left to sell, but I will likely have some extra pickguards (!) and I have a chrome bridge and pickup cover set for a P bass that came off an old MIJ Memphis copy (damn that was a nice bass.)
I am seriously thinking I'll sell the Lotus too. I dig it, but it is just so frikkin' heavy. My god, so heavy. I may have to at least keep the neck from it though. That is a seriously killer neck.
I think this will be the 8th or 9th time seeing them for me, been about 4-5 years since the last time, though.
I'm excited to see the new lineup. The Melvins/Big Business collaboration started off really strong (Senile Animal is KILLER), but left me kind of flat after a while.

@Burnsy was kind enough to make a deal for me! Assuming the neck is in proper shape, this beauty is mine. Opted for the Lace pups. I am not really down with active EMGs either. I will either keep the Laces( My buddy has an old fender with lace pups and they rule), or put a model P or another GZR in there. I figure I can sell the lace sensors if I prefer something else. Not sure what I could get for them but I would imagine 40 bucks or so.
I am to stoked to add this to my peavey herd. The white is super fresh, fresh enough that when in my hands I'll be tossed as to which one gets tuned to C standard for my main player and which one gets the standard tuning.
@Muddslide you should keep your eyes peeled for a Fury. It might fall into your price range and it will be a killer axe if the neck isn't trashed. As for your current blue bass dilemma, If you keep black pup covers, then a black guard. If you put the white ones on then tort for sure.

Hey duders, happy belated Independence Day. Mine was good but hella busy. Gonna be a good but hella busy week, too. Lots of (too much?) recording, MDT gigs picking back up full force after taking June off and, on top of all that, I'm working on putting a new project together. That's still too primordial to call it a "band" but you never know how that creature will evolve...
The new slate of gigs = new pedalboard lineup! I was able to get everything I "need" back on one board, which is always good for my sense of sanity. Been getting way into gated fuzz on the current MDT tracking, so I'm putting the Brown Dog on there for the first time. Also been digging the super synthetic sounds I can get with fuzz + hard-chopping trem, so the PN-2 is back. I'm giving up on my search for a live-friendly synth pedal. The only one I like the sound of is my big box EHX and it's a PITA to play out, so I'm just going with dirt toanz for now.
For anyone who gives a rip about synth bass, though, the Moog Minitaur continues to impress. Many great toanz and sweeps in there. I'm finally starting to understand what all the knob twiddling actually does.

Had a Ditto at one point and traded it coz I wasn't using it much with MDT. I could def. see myself getting another in the future, though.
Playing with a band who's considered hardcore beat down. A fan of that described what's called "crowd killing". I'm not sure how happy I am about this concept of music. Anyone here have experience with this and can confirm what I've heard?

1) When at a hardcore/metalcore show someone hardcore dances along the the boarder of the mosh pit with the intent of hitting the crowd. Crowd killers apparently believe that it is not hardcore to not participate in dancing when at hardcore shows. Ironically crowd killer toughness is questionable (it would be socially unnacceptable for a member of the crowd who hasn't been hardcore dancing to begin throwing kicks, punches, ect. in defense when approached by crowd killers) as they frequently hit unsuspecting crowd members who (if aware of the strike) in the context of one on one (in some cases) could [This invalid link has been removed] and drop that sucka. Crowd killers (as they can be called?) often target who they plan to hit and typically go after "emo kids" and/or "scene kids".
2) When a pseudo tough-guy with an ego complex punches a member of the crowd in the face (often as a sucka-punch)because it makes him feel like a man.
Billy: During the breakdown that jock hit that unsuspecting hardcore kid so hard I could hear the pop over the intensely loud chugga chuggas.

Got my '78 Greco guitar. Daaaamn it is nice. Looks almost brand new, just a few little dings and scratches. Plays nice, sounds good. The pickups are kind of vintage PAF style, so a bit bright, but sound pretty nice with the tone rolled off on the bridge. One of the best deals I've ever had on a guitar though, I'm super happy with it.
Filling in the trench where sewer and water were brought up to the house. God it's hot, good thing I can walk back to my house to cool off until the ac and power get on here and I can move.
I'm thinking if its ok I'll use that garage floor epoxy as the kitchen/utility area floor. It's cheap and rugged. If I ever upgrade I just lay the new flooring over it. Tin backsplash is cheap and looks cool too.

And another ad offering to take any livestock especially goats off anyone who can't take care of them if they deliver.

i always get punched in the face at aggro shows by little guys flailing their fists above their heads, that's why i don't photograph those types of shows anymore, besides there are generally hotter girls at the soul and goth shows anyway
