A while back I had my bronco tuned to B into the Bluebeard-Fabtone (hm-2) and tried both side by side and you could cop similar tones, but the hm-2 was more flexible, I want to see what the tone bypass will do. They were pushing a loud clean mb509 and bassic.

In Austin we have a very old one screen theatre the paramount that does movies, shows, plays, talks etc. pretty much any stand up live in Austin is set there.

Every summer they do weekend throwback movies everything from African Queen/Casablanca double feature to Them!/Godzilla. My favorite old monster movies. Used to be my favorite bogart films, but then I saw the treasure of the Sierra madre. They'd also play like ww2 and Cold War news, a cartoon and a batman Adam west serial. All that and a coke and unlimited popcorn with a box of milk duds.

One time we sat in front of the projectionist during I think street car and the projectionist of 65 years or something dyed if a heart attack right behind us. Crazy stuff the film went all kilter. We got like a bunch of passes and they had a cool tribute to him.

I like my BB on tone bypass mode, gain around 1:30. Great muff tone.

So I finally got my 200s working! About two years back at school it went sort of kaputt on me, it had been working fine but one day I was playing it and suddenly the volume dropped out, and even with it cranked to 10, the signal was very quiet and very fuzzy. I honestly feared that I'd damaged the OT because I'd loaned it out for a show where the bands amps had died and they needed a fill in fast, and so it was run at 2 ohms, and I thought that might have done it in. Since then its sat around unused, as I have the bigger amps that I use more regularly anyways and it wasn't a pressing matter to get it fixed. Fast forward to the present, I'm looking at buying 6AN8As for one of the 2000s, since when it was at the shop the tech told me the PI was starting to go south and get noisey, and I should replace it sometime soon. So while I'm looking online I remember "wait a sec, I already have a 6AN8A that's sitting around unused in the 200s," I can just steal it out of that amp since it doesn't work right now and doesn't need it anyway. So pull the 6AN8A, plug it into the 2000s, and lo and behold, exact same problem as with the 200s: low output and highly distorted. Plug the other 6AN8A from the 2000s which still worked into the 200s, and BOOM, works perfectly. So I essentially added another amp back into the roster! I'd forgotten how good the thing sounds too, run through the 2000s cab.

They're close, but not exactly the same. The 200s has fixed mids I believe, since it only has Vol, Bass, Treb controls, plus a bass and treble boost. Maybe a bit fatter sounding than I normally run the 2000s simply because I can't push the mids as much by shifting them with the countour knob.

Ah, I see. Didn't know that. I had thought they were the same but the 2000S had twice as big a power section. Learn something new every day, I guess.

Does it really? If you're using the thing right (according to Swedish Death Metal) you just crank everything. Just dime the knobs, then take them off. You won't need them again.

I got all greenboy 15" based cabs for regular and down tuned bass. I also use some peavey 4x10 columns and plan to use a 4x12 with my bass vi.

Right now it's been straight forward bass vi in standard, dirt pedal, rockmaster head and the 2x15.

When it rains, it pours! Got a few options on getting "new" pedals lately. I don't need any of them, but I feel they'd be good to have in the stable. They're all at good prices, so that's the kicker. Specifically, I can get a DOD250, an ODB-3, and a "refined" Fab Tone (don't know about that one, but I'm interested) all for $40 or less each. What to do, what to do?

Yea I've decided I'm keeping it and my two bass vi's and a jaguar short scale. It still has yet to be wired up, but I got a couple 500k alpha pots a a couple different caps to try and some bead chromes.

Been listing and selling off the flock. Got a couple more pedals to buy (cathedral, SMMH, TS-1, fuzz face of some sort) and a squier mustang then I'll be dandy.
