My other bass is an old Squier Jazz with Model J pickups, I always thought it was super loud and this does seem really quiet in comparison, so much so that I might flip a couple of my dirt pedals as it isn't strong enough to really get them going. Anyone else experienced this? I've not had a chance to play around with it, maybe I can raise the pickup height or something.

It sounds amazing, the variety of tones you can get is crazy!

That is one of the few 4 bangers, or parallel fret basses that still gives me a bit of gas.

I would check the Pup height.

Nice T-40, might wanna check the pickup height if output is low. Then again, everything seems low output next to Dimarzio Model ___ type pickups.

I've heard those are reaaalllyy hot output-wise.

Actually the original squire pick ups in my p-bass were hotter than my Dimarzios. But it was upper mid range honk, Tone is much better now.

My Model P makes my Precision the hottest bass I have, output wise. Including my Stingray and my active SB4000.

Yep, its hotter than either of my active basses. None of them touch the dingwall in series mode though.

I'd like to try one of their P models sometime. I've never played a fanned fret instrument before.

Did *you* book the DotD gig? If so, maybe you could try to take FM down and put Vega instead. A sorts of farewell gift for guitard?

I'd like to try one of their P models sometime. I've never played a fanned fret instrument before.

The AB1 has two split coils in it, so its like a double P. Their J and P basses do not have a 37" scale though. Think its a 34".

35" on the 5 strings. 34.25 on the 4 strings.

Hey all you DIY cab makers, I was looking for some strap handle to add to the top of my new combo and ran across this site, thought you might like it:

So, I'm looking to add another strap or 2 to the top of my combo, do I HAVE to use T-nuts and machine screws, or can I use wood screws? The cab is made from plywood. I'd rather not have to pull the chassis, but will do it on your recommendations.

You can use screws I don't prefer to. If you do pre-drill your holes before adding screws.
