Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Whoa! GC apparently re-styled their used site. Not cool. Now I can't figure out how to just search for a specific term. That sucks. Anybody know a way around this?

Live chat, call, go in person, shop elsewhere.

IMO it's 10000x better on my iPhone. I can actually search used gear and open gear in new tabs to look back at and continue searching.

I was able to do all that up until recently. Chatting is bothersome, I just wanted to browse, and not want to talk to someone to see if they have any in stock in the entirety of their stock. In person only limits to one store, and there are very few alternatives locally, so I typically stick with online options. Hmmm...

Finally made an all Dano board today. Got 2 Fabtones, 2 Daddy-Os (1 each stock, 1 each modded) and borrowing my buddy's Cool Cat Chorus, followed by my Dan-Echo. Now, is it as good as either of my standard guitar or bass boards? Of course not. Is it fun, and will it get the job done in most situations? Heck yes! I don't really even have to adjust settings besides volume on any of them. That's the best part, really. Now, I just need to get a Dano envelope filter and I'll have all the components of both boards in a Dano package. I hear the French Fries Auto Wah they put out is very divisive. Guess I could put my Bass Synth Wah on, but that'd mess up the Dano theme! First world problems and all that...

Mixing and mastering all done. The new EP will be out September 15th. download only, maybe we'll make a few bucks that can go towards the next full-length.

"Van man" comes off kinda creepy. I keep hearing "Mommy, the van man asked me to go with him to find his puppy. He was going to give me candy."
It's a minivan. So really more like the soccer mom.

Was not a good night for me. I choked a bit. Had good feedback from the crowd though. Drummer is pissed off at me.
Ouch. Sorry to hear that, dude.

Know that feeling dude. I always play great at practice but still haven't gotten my onstage nerves under control and always mess something up.

Got my humble issue solved turns out I actually had the output jack reversed. I always. Assumed it wouldn't work at all if I did that.

Thing about that is to just keep playing through it. Most of the audience won't notice a clam or three. They are glaring to you, maybe noticeable to the rest of your band, but mostly lost on the audience. Just don't let the song grind to a halt. Gotta push through. Hell, I know you know this. I'm just old and have to dispense old timer advice.

I'm lucky in that I never really had stage nerves when playing with a band, at least not after the first gig or two I ever did. Now, I've tried a few solo shows and that is NOT my thing. ALL nerves. I do not like being the sole center of attention. I need at least one other person up there with me.

Job interview in a town near Tulsa today. If I end up moving up that way maybe I can catch one of your shows.

Hell, what places are there for gigs in Tulsa these days? I used to book shows around town. Now I don't know poopie.

So gonna reword a question. my stereo setup needs a complimentary dirt pedal to my HM-2 played on the other side. Basically the Hm-2 is low end heavy and walk of sound like. I'm looking for something miss agressive and either low end cut, or capable of getting cut. I want something that gives at least some definition to the HM-2 kinda blurred tone in chords, and just to stick out more in single note lines.

So far I have the Joyo UD, other contenders are a rat, a pocket metal muff... $60 or less is preferable.

@JoeVictim you really like your Eno rat right? I'm tempted as I don't want to spend $89+ on a legit rat.

Anyone use a trem pedal for bass? I've used plenty on guitars but not with bass I don't think.

I think it can be cool, not always on but it has its uses. I just got that Dunlop TS-1 stereo trem/pan.

What I saw that was really really cool yesterday was a volume pedal (typical wah treadle) but it was stereo in and out and had a switch for volume or pan. The item apparently sucks so much you can't enjoy the great idea...

I am building a blue warbler 2.

What is that based on?
