Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Anyone played the digitech Polara reverb? Looks to do what I want with the cathedral in a smaller cheaper box.

Also anyone able to compare a super fuzz to a joyo UD or silicon Fuzz face, muff with tone up, as to which is brighter more assertive sound? I got the. HM-2 is on one side and has more than enough lows, need something brash cutting and with definition.

Work beginning on souping up my first bass. New pg & GZRs arrived. Awaiting BAII bridge. Need to trim the neck pocket slightly on the pg to fit, but it's close. I think black-on-black looks a little classier with a maple neck, but this'll do.

Sweet have a former co worker with friends heading over to Oakland from SF for the show at the Golden Bull. Fat Wrekords street party ends at 8pm. Told him on FB to come over and see some hardcore once he's done with the Pop Punk. But that's before I head Sick Of It All replaced a band supporting NoFx. I do like me some Sick Of It All and NoFx, but I'm kinda tied up with load in. ;)

Asked this in the fretless club, but you guys' opinions have always been good:

Got asked to play in the band for a revue at my university because I was recommended by a couple of people. It's in a month. Do I woodshed like crazy and try and do the show on fretless as a kind of trial by fire, or take the safe route and play fretted? My fretless playing and ear are getting better and better, but I won't pretend I'm particularly competent yet. On the other hand, this isn't a paying gig, just for fun, so it could be a really good experience. Thoughts?
Personally I'd go with the fretted for the show, but that's just me. I wasn't competent on fretless until after I'd gotten some lessons on upright (which I still suck at).

Nah, black on black with rosewood looks damn cool.

I've been in three now, fun times :rollno:. With decent insurance you should be ok.

The lawyer we've seen since my wife was hit and nearly killed a couple years back implored us to start getting uninsured motorist coverage. He carries a million dollars' worth. Apparently one in three drivers in OK are uninsured, I assume from all their money being eaten up by meth making supplies.

Well someones gotta stimulate the economy.

They spend all there money on methy consumer goods at cvs and other places with high markup and then don't pay insurance. Hit you and make you work hard to makes ends meet then sell off a bunch of meth to factory workers and such who then work hard to pay for meth, so the meth cooks have to go out and buy more methy consumer goods ad nauseum.

Meth matters

That's a nice clean board you've got there! That setting on the Blower Box must destroy things something fierce! Way more treble than I could handle, that's for sure. I'm actually in the process of trying to throw my Blower Box back on the board. I've got just about everything else on there, so I figured I might as well cram it in there somewhere too. In the last week my board has gone from 6 pedals to 11. 3 of them are "utility" pedals like a tuner, HPF, and a gate. Blower Box will be 12, if I can get it on there. That'll make for 7 dirt pedals, 1 envelope filter, 1 delay, and the "utility" pedals. Sounds about right for a doom board, eh?
