So the wah is pretty awesome, it can get super funky, but there's lots of sounds with the q control. The switching mechanism works perfectly and the cutoff delay is adjustable via a trimpot inside. Boost circuit sounds great, adjustable output, it can get very loud.

Pulled out the LH1000 and a single 15" cab, hadn't used that head recently, was reminded how awesome it is.

I wasn't a maple board guy till I picked up the ATK700. Been digging it. Slapped the Gecko around a little tonight and reminded me how nice the pao ferro board feels. For the most part I'm probably going to build a new Warmoth before I ever get a Rick... But I can still dream.

My opinion is this. Bang out a preliminary quicky, punk rock show and then return for the extra long passionate round two. I can wait.

Asked this in the fretless club, but you guys' opinions have always been good:

Got asked to play in the band for a revue at my university because I was recommended by a couple of people. It's in a month. Do I woodshed like crazy and try and do the show on fretless as a kind of trial by fire, or take the safe route and play fretted? My fretless playing and ear are getting better and better, but I won't pretend I'm particularly competent yet. On the other hand, this isn't a paying gig, just for fun, so it could be a really good experience. Thoughts?

I would wait on the fret less and just focus on the tunes. In hopes that possibly more jobs/gig opportunities come from that one at a later date. I got up at a gig once and was givin a fret less and it was terrible. It even had markers and everything. Unless fretless is your main instrument or you already know the tunes by heart. Then I would say ok. If not either of those I strongly suggest you stay fretted. I feel alway be the most professional for sit in gigs.
