Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Hello everyone, So I have fallen in love with Doom metal. What bass strings are you guys going for overdrive/distortion?
Nickel or pure stainless steel? My flatwounds have me stressed.

I prefer nickel roundwound strings. My preference has been for either DR Lo-Riders or D'Addarios. Usually the DR strings now, as they're a little less bright when new and I don't like bright strings.

There's also these guys:

Quality Tube Guitar Amplifiers

3 flavors of 12AX7 replacements. I heard some A/B tests in Jet City amplifiers and I was hard-pressed to tell the difference. Of course they were only swapping 1 preamp tube for a solid-state replacement, but it sounded pretty decent. I could see carrying some for emergency replacement purposes.

A few years back I was hiking just off trail in a relatively busy section of a local state park and my friend and I stumbled across a small bundle of 3 syringes and a tie off. When I say just off trail, I mean we were returning from an off trail hike and were 10 yards from the trailhead/parking area. We grabbed the paraphernalia and disposed of it. I am normally not one to touch anything like that, but we didn't want any kids to stumble across it. I also found a syringe on the floor of an elevator at a local mall (West Co for my STL amigos) when I worked at the book store in the mall. I really don't care what people(that I don't care about or know) want to do to their bodies but for ****'s sake keep it out of public places. Kids do not need to be around dirty needles.

The wait for the big brown truck is a tedious and exhausting one. Many of the daytime hours I need to save for sleep, but I need to sign and I am to pumped for this delivery. Sucks that UPS is so utterly unreliable and unpredictable. THAT'S MY FIRST WORLD GRIPE OF THE DAY.

Also, we need gear pics or we have to assume you have no gear. Which is alright and I am sure your a cool person, but at least post some pics of other peoples gear. I just want to look at rigs, basses and pedal boards all day.

The Iby Weeping demon is all aluminum except it has a plastic piece on the top of the pedal portion but it's just a plastic plate over more aluminum. Guitarcenter used is a good place to check, got mine for $46 shipped.
Gonna paint/mod mine I think.

My drunken pawn shop purchase is arriving this afternoon, left it at friends house. Hopefully it is something decent. It looked good drunk though.

Welp, purchased the 105Q. Heavy as hell.

Considered the weeping demon, but it's huge and we didn't have it in stock at work so it would have ended up costing me an extra 10% (plus the wait for it to arrive and I WANT IT NOW).

Looking forward to getting home and trying it out. Then I'll need to rearrange the pedalboard again to make room. Should have room for my tuner > two dirts (Bazz and M85) > wah > behringer delay/noise oscillator > BF2 > Digidelay > Nobels phaser.

Haven't had any sort of wah for several years and this is the first bass-specific one that I've had so I'm pretty pumped.

If I had a dollar for every time that happened to me. Not usually with a good result.
