Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I would drop a single model p in there with a new pickgaurd, call it a day and DOOM the fvck out.
If it's a pool route, just get a new pickguard made, and get the most stupidly, pointlessly large, ridiculous pickup possible.

Like a real mudbucker or something.

But right in the middle, instead of at the neck. So it's basically dominating the entire center of the body.

IMO their is no perfect bridge for a ric. Both have trade offs but the stock is, by a slim hair, the winner. After just playing the brown (Hipshot) one I think your right on the action thing. Brown ric needs a full overhaul. Been too long.
The actual saddles on the hipshot can be filed down. I have one that the previous owner filed down a bit too much on my Ibanez 4001 copy, actually, and so the highest string buzzes quite a bit.

On the stock Rickenbacker one, I think really they could improve it if they just beefed up the part that bends, and maybe filled in more material on the underside to make it a bit more solid.

Was going through an old computer and found some stuff from my first "real" band. The Striking Method.
Figured I'd change my avatar and put an old song on soundcloud.
This was from our demo Red Cloud. 2002ish? I think, things are all very hazy from that period.

So decided to update the version of Highway we had on VEGAs bandcamp with a new unmastered, unmixed, scratch vocals version of the track from our recording sesh.

Also, this song is a great sample of my bass tone for the album...Peavey Vulcan straight in with built in fuzz and the Dunwich DI clean.

Slap a Babisczcsczssccz full contact on there and call it a day. Why stick to 2 designs that are flawed?

Who are you, Gibson?

no what i meant to say was that i was tuned wrong for the first song, and then he was tuned wrong for the next one. Drummer thought it was hilarious because of the total confused look on our faces trying to figure out what the fvck was going on.

Nope, I refuse to believe you were tuned wrong. It was his fault, end of discussion.

Juggling tunings is a real pain. It'd be real sweet to be in a band that would agree on one and stay there.
Maybe just do the BEAD with a capo and a drop tuner thing.
I don't like carrying several instruments to shows, makes me nervous.
