Jack Black came to the art show and I ended up talking to him about music and horror movies for twenty minutes, his goosebumps movie is up against krumpus and the evil dead, he said he's into doom metal and peaches

I'm pretty blatant about my wah use in Catapult, but no one has ever questioned it.Three new songs arranged. Lyrics for one in the bag. Second is going to be a slower (for us) instrumental. Third that needs lyrics is a blazer, needed a bridge.
Blood in the Water took some time getting it right with the lyrics and modifications from the original concept... But we have it.
Show coming up in October 23rd should see at least one if not all three of these fleshed out live for an audience.
Oooo I also snuck some wah into a whole note doomy outro today without having everyone freak out about it!
Jack Bruce also replaced the bridge pickup with another mudbucker, as I recall.

If anyone has issues with my wah usage, I have issues with them.
Set was fun. Glad we went last coz we were definitely the loudest, even acoustic.

Swedish band called The Hollywoods was pretty heavy instro...not all surf.
Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet and Man...Or Astro-Man? did some fairly heavy instro stuff in the vein of surf. Active in the 90s.

I've been messing with it more woodsheding the songs at home and it sounds a little more organic, happy about that. Song can work with or without but it adds another flavor I tend to like.
As for Jack at least we have some more choices for fuzz as opposed to cutting speaker cones.
His Warwick signature has a MEC humbucker in the bridge position that looks similar to the Gibson mudbucker, but I'm fairly certain it's a totally different design. As for when he was in Cream, he used a 1961 with a 3 way toggle, a '61/'62 with a standard Varitone, and then a '63-'65 model with changed speed knobs. Pictures of him post-Cream also show him with a '67+ Eb-3 and EB-0.

Met him a long time ago while copying some of his designs at the copymat I was managing in the east bay.
Was pretty guarded of his copy.
As for Jacks tone? It's unique for sure. Not many are willing to sacrifice speakers as he did.
