Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

You ever run that pre into the power section of the CL400? I bet that would be awesome.

I have not. Honestly it sounds so good with the power amp, that I had not even thought about it until now.

Not doom at all and may have mentioned it, but my rice cooker is killing it lately. Learned you can make so much more than a few cups of white rice and steamed veggies in it. I've been making steamed corn breads, beer and sausage cabbage, collards and plantains (using cabbage n beer pot likker), cakes, trying homemade mac and cheese today.

Edit: Pot Likker is a totally cool band name, dibs on that awesome sauce.

You can do a lot with a rice cooker, a toaster oven, a griddle, and a hot plate if you are adventurous. They are just small scale appliances, and you see all their big brother counter parts in every restaurant.

After about 3 years, I'm finally getting to the bottom of the 25 pound sack of rice I got a Costco. I asked for, and got, a nice rice cooker for Christmas last year, and it makes life a whole lot simpler. I'm going to move away from the rice now, and more toward the quinoa type of stuff.

My Argentinian friends live on it.

I can see why. I never felt clean energy without jitters before. Very unique. Since the storms in my neck of the wood are bad and are a trigger for my migraines I took some last night for its vasodilator properties. I made a cup half of kava and half of mate about an hour before bed and I still slept like a baby, it's doesn't keep you up which is awesome. Woke up feeling great too, some swelling on my temples but no eyestabber so far. Glad I tried this stuff.

This has my tastebuds tingling and jingling as well.

Illegality has not and will never stop people.

Any kratom users? I've been intrigued, but I'm more mainstream with my substance abuse.

I feel I should say kratom is an addictive drug like an opiate and kava is nothing like that and gets a bad rap because of the similar sounding names and some unscrupulous kava bars spiking kava with it. I love to spread the word about kava which is a safe natural medicine but I would never recommend a hard drug to anyone.

I can see kratom being helpful for people with chronic pain if you can do it without getting hooked.

I found that stuff intriguing but never had any concoction of it that didn't taste like arse.

dirty ass hippie

Hey now, leave the ass hippies out of this.

Loves me some Israeli (Pearl) couscous. Coucscous is great for camping, so easy to make.

Couscous is kind of like rice in the way that it takes on what flavors you cook it in. Made some red Israeli the other day using veal stock and merlot.

I need to find a good bulk couscous source. I don't want to pay $2.50 for the preseasoned portion. There's one brand I saw selling a pound for $7, seems excessive for a little pasta carb.

Machaca too, if I found that in bulk I'd be one happy monkey.

Big Lots has a little dry soup, legume, lentil, etc section of Bob's Red Mill products. They have a nice sized bag of couscous for pretty cheap.
