Cool! Where are you at in the show?

I'm not even a big sword/sorcery/fantasy guy, but I got hooked enough on GoT to read all the books (and that's a commitment!)

Another recent-ish HBO show I really dug was the first season of True Detective. I'd just about put it up there with the best television ever.

I am way back, re-watched season 2 since I added discs back to my Netflix account. Start season 3 tonight and not even sure If I haven't seen that season yet. John Snow hanging with the red head's tribe. I was a fantasy dork through high school so I chub it some. I like how it is so dark and cold-blooded like if the mafia was in a fantasy setting. I am so out of the loop on what shows are out there I have only had Netflix instant for years.

Or the other week, when my girlfriend's Pentecostal family where teasing me about when I am going to make them a baby, and they said what would you name the baby, and she said any name that isn't in the bible is good with him, Bwah ha ha

Honestly it's just getting better, the counter culture has grown a TON in the last few years especially. Most jobs I've worked have had minimal religious fanatics. They usually end up being the minority in the call centers I've worked it. It's also largely generational, it seems like more people my age and younger have realized that it's just a ******** money stealing cult and woke up.

And our mountains are pretty shaging brutal. I mean beautiful. Or both.

And fun to hike.

Dang. Just hold out. That's the one thing about Strats and Strat-alikes specifically--you can usually find them so readily and on the cheap. If you can't put your hand to one right now, just give it some time. I live in a pretty small town. One pawn shop that doubles as the music store. Even there they have like two nice Fender Strats, several Squiers (including Affinitys and Bullets) and a few off brands like Indiana. They even have an Aria-branded Strat clone, but it looks really new; not one of the cool old MIJ ones from the 70s. Different logo than I've ever seen on an Aria.

Ha! Yeah--when we lived in Virginia we lived in Roanoke which is in the more rural, Southern (with a capital 'S') half of the state.

One of the questions I got asked the most is "Where does your family go to church?"

if it was someone I was pretty cool with I'd say "Well, I have this...thing where if I walk into a church I burst into flames."

If it was someone I thought was less inclined to have a sense of humor, I'd just say "My family and I are not churchgoers."

Actually, to clarify that, I always told my kids they could believe whatever they wanted and investigate anything of a religious nature they desired to, and that if they felt like going to church, we'd let them--even take them. But they were never very interested. We talk about that kind of thing a lot--comparative religion, etc., but I don't think either one of them feels like they need a church or a Brand Name Religion (TM) to take a spiritual path, or not, or whatever they want to do, or don't want to do.

Put my hands on about 10 or so random copy's and real deals, nothing fancier then a MIM fender. Nothing jumped out from what I checked out. Really want to try a squier cv strat. I love my squier cv tele to death and it's my most used guitar.

Yeah, the EHX micro synths only differ in EQ points as far as I know also. It's possible that the bass version might retain more low end though, I'm not sure. The regular version might have a high pass filter that reduces bass. I know that most bass pedals also sound great on guitar, so if a bass version is available I usually gravitate towards it. Like the bass whammy reissue. Plus it has much cooler intervals on the harmony mode.

pippi my kitten died from complications brought on from swallowing sulfur skin treatment ointment, they think she had something majorly wrong with her to begin with and the poisoning just made it so she couldn't fight anymore, i saw her about an hour before she died, she couldn't eat and her breathing was super heavy, didn't know what to do, i was kinda shocked, went to my friend's vintage music place to think about if i wanted to put her to sleep and to charge my iphone, when i went back they said she died already, really not a fun afternoon, i hope nobody irritates me at work tomorrow, because in all likelihood i will probably make them bite the curb in the parking lot, the joys of being a failed animal rescuer and a unappreciated art teacher
