Cool, they sent me a picture.

Price finalized at $375, I'm good with that. Got some up-close pics and it's in clean shape overall with some tolex seam peeling, mostly on the back. Not that bad, though. Tryna set up a time Sat AM to test and, assuming that goes well, nab it.

Differences between the cabs? In a nutshell: 3620 is darkest/most lows, 2xOBCs are more hi-fi and can split ears with both horns going. They're ported and throw good lows, too. Very easy to dominate the mix with fuzz. Ampeg's really in-between the other two sound wise. Maybe mid-rangier?

Physically, 3620's the biggest pain to move b/c of dimensions. Fridge is easy minus loading the wagon & stairs. OBCs are modular so that can be handy for certain venues.

Various cab pics....

Thanks for the advice. I got to a hospital with a team of neurologists and the sleep center is in there also. I only have borderline apnea, going on the machine was a migraine treatment hail Mary throw by my neurologist, our team didn't win :(. I also had a deviated septum that blocked my left nostril most of the time, worsened with migraines. I had the surgery done and it only blocks with extreme migraines so that helps too.
I don't take any daily medications. I have a script for tramadol and for imitrex for when I get a migraine. Granted I get lots of migraines so I take imitrex pretty often. Tramadol rarely. So not really worried about drug interactions with kava. I don't drink with kava either. I actually completely stopped drinking(though I rarely drank anyway) when I started on kava. I have been seeing this doctor for five years with no migraine relief, though he is highly recommended and really, really trying with me, but I am his hardest migraine case and he admits that. Since I have been seeing him for years and only drinking kava daily for 6 months, I am not bringing up the kava too him unless he tries me on something new that would react say like with my liver. I don't want him to have a scapegoat like kava to blame the migraines on, I want him to keep troubleshooting.
I'm sorry to hear that man, if your study was done @ a hospital I can guarentee it was accredited because the hospitals are all terrified of being sued.

I had a lot of trouble with migraines myself and it took about a year to figure out what was going on. I ended up taking a bunch of different preventative meds like Elavil, Depakote, Topaxmax, and now Verapamil and really only the Topamax and Verapamil even worked for me. I also had to do a bunch of physical therapy and cortisone shots on my neck because they felt like a bone spur I had on C2 was contributing and I have mine pretty well managed. In your case you might want to ask about the Botox shots in the neck a lot of people I've talked to are having great success with that if you haven't tried it. I've had accupuncture for mine as well and it works awesome. If you tried pretty much everything you might want to try no gluten, I've heard of people having celiac and not knowing it having bad migraines from it. Good luck I hope you feel better.

Thanks. Yeah I have had a few sessions of botox with no relief. Seeing the doc today, he has been pushing me to take more botox, if it helped some previously I would be all about it. I want to try acupuncture next. Topomax gave me rage issues and it just didn't help. I would love to get some cortisone shots right on the side on my nose where the nerve seems to be that is getting pinched. Glad you have found relief, nice to hear a migraine success story. I recently have pretty much cut all grains from my diet. I think there is some fillers in soups so I need to cut that out too. I think the trick to my migraines not reacting to treatments thus far is because they are sinus triggered. Allergens keep my sinuses constantly swollen then a little air pressure change comes through and the eyestabbers have their way with me. Going to keep drinking the yerba mate to keep the veins flowing in my head, seems to help a little, at least it gives me some energy through the day.

Hey guys, I have a quick question for you! I've been playing in a stoner/doom band for a few months now and it's still a bit of a new genre to me. I've been using overdrive and fuzz, but feel like there's room for some more (a dangerous road, I know!). Luckily, my pedal board only has room for one new pedal on it. I was thinking about a nice envelope filter, but then maybe something like a Line 6 M5 would give me some more options (though I've avoided digital in the past). Which way would you guys go? Digital multi-effect with heaps of options, or a single, nice, analogue effect? Is there much room for chorus, octave down, phaser etc. in the genre? Thanks!

Man, I am so sorry you have to deal with this. That ANYONE does. I sympathize somewhat because I do suffer chronic pain--from the knees down my legs are just a bundle of constant pain and have been for a couple years. Also, while I haven't been officially diagnosed (too many other medical issues going on lately!) I am pretty certain I have arthritis. Runs in my family, both sides, and I have a "moving" pain that afflicts me daily...sometimes my hips feel like they are going to break...some days my hands hurt so much I can barely hold a pen...sometimes my neck is in agony, etc.

Anyway, not trying to "compare ailments"--just saying in some ways I share your pain (heh heh.)

But none of what I endure is like a migraine...the often sudden onset of them, the acute, violent nature of them...the only thing I could liken it to is a sudden, very horrible toothache or earache. I know it's not the same, but it is a terrible pain also in the head region. I am very lucky to have never suffered migraines on any kind of regular basis, and haven't had one in years (dunno why this is) but I well remember the feeling of them, and not to sound like a weak suck, but there were times they'd hit me--coupled with that instantaneous feeling of nausea--like icepicks through the eyes--and I literally thought "I'm glad I don't have a gun to hand at the moment, because I might be thinking of ending this the easy way instead of trying to push through it for however long..."

I am a completely irreligious person, but I send blessings to you of any powers that may be for positivity, health and healing.

The whole reason I replied to this is regarding acupuncture. After our second child, my poor wife developed very severe sciatic nerve problems. I mean, they were crippling. My wife is a strong, strong, sturdy human who has been though more rough sh!it in her day than anyone should have to go through, and to see her reduced to tears by this pain was so difficult, so hurtful.

She tried all kinds of crap from PT to pills...anything we could throw at it. No help. No effect. Until she tried acupuncture. Three sessions and cured. Done. It was the acupuncture with the electrical pulses. She said it made her entire body feel better...her whole being.

Since her car accident 2 years back (which nearly killed her) she has had intermittent sciatic problems again, but not nearly as severe. I can usually fix her up just with massage.

I hope you try acupuncture and that it is a help to you.

I hate to complain about migraines when I know the terrible issues you deal with. I can also see why they used to call cluster headaches, suicide headaches. I have gone up to 15 days in a row with daily eyestabbers and you start losing your mind from the pain. Not suicidal but on the drive home you kind of wish that tractor trailer would pull in your lane, because the thought of another 30 years of these devils is brutal. Really thinking I need to move back to central coastal Florida for the seabreeze controlled allergens and the steady daily weather. Or maybe central AZ. I can't afford Hawaii or San Diego with my low paying GIS career path lol.

There is always room for chorus, octave and phaser. I'd go analogue though. The only digital effects I really look at are delays and reverb.

I am going to be the odd man out here (and this is a group of pretty odd folks) but I don't have a problem with digital multi effects. Are analog pedals preferable? Hell yes--I prefer them. But for the price of one good one you can score a decent multiFX and the ones I've tried, I've been pretty happy with. They also (as you mentioned) take up less space.

The one thing I gotta say, though, is that I've never had a bass-specific digital multi-pedal. Never really owned or used one with a bass. Just guitar. So I don't have any specific recommendations for one.

To me, chasing the tone dragon is fun, but I don't pursue it that much these days. In my mind, the little differences you'll hear between this pedal and that, these strings vs. those, swapping this pickup for that pickup, are mostly noticeable to the player and not as prevalent in a band situation or certainly a gig situation with all the other instruments and extraneous noise. Recording is a different issue, as is playing solo stuff.

As far as "what there's room for in the genre" hell--you can go for anything as far as I'm concerned. I really dig it when doom bands use dynamics...heavy as fvck for a while with tons of fuzz or OD, then a sudden switch up to something pretty with chorus or flanger, then BOOM--back to the heavy...now a solo bit with some sub-octave going down...I don't believe in "rules" to this kind of thing--anything you use, even if it's not typically considered "right" for a certain kind of music or whatever, will only expand your sound and the body of music in that genre.
