Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Guns: a scary reality currently, but nowhere as scary as the possible realities that unarmed populations have endured, and will again.

I dont think guns by nature are the problem. I think that education, understanding, training, and wild lack of true checks and balances are the problem. We make people take a couple years of training with an instructor before they even have a licence to drive, let alone own their own car.

Bass: you guys ever get just STUCK? feeling so rutted and uninspired.

I was a little while ago. Pork loin, JGR, and Dingwall combo have me jonesing to jam right now.

I have a flip-top boxcutter from Lowe's I keep around. Plan to score a nice Italian stiletto or switchblade soon.

My knives are mostly legal (have one or two that are over legal carry length), and I could spend as much money on more as I do bass gear...

I carry a Kershaw EMT Function knife, the speedsafe thing is supposedly legal in WA, but I'm not to sure.
These days I generally avoid the ire of la Policia.
Knives are cool but I just have a few. Already have enough expensive hobbies that I don't have time for these days.

We should do some type of "Top 3 Records of 2015" posts within this thread when the new year gets closer.
I'm interested in what doombros have been listening to.

Kava: got some. Maybe it will fix the above!

Sometimes I feel I am just playing and unending pentatonic minor scale.

I like when other people say kava in their posts. Sucking down a kava candy at work, I had a loop of Jason Molina on soundcloud then some horrible rap song came on and just shot my nerves to hell. Music can be a true joy or a pure torture in .5 seconds.

I know it might be cliche, but I really dig Luminiferous, the new HoF. Also, it came out last year but I've spent a lot of time this year with Yob's Clearing the Path to Ascend.

Need to check out the most recent Ghost BC.

It was similar. It didn't have any serrations and that looks a bit larger. I want to say it was a scallion.

Yeah, definitely a scallion with a plastic grip. A buddy of mine had one that he found with a metal grip and I found the plastic to be superior. Maybe not as durable but far easier to grip.

I have one of those too I think. This is my "at work" carry. Good for boxes and getting through packaging materials.

With very few exceptions I dislike most rap & hip hop. Often I dig the beats and music but the lyrics and vocals kill it for me.

Also, kaaaavaaaaa.
I dig a lot of hip hop. Not the garbage that you hear pumping out of the 12 year old lincoln or monte carlo next to you, but classic stuff and different stuff. Outkast, Aesop Rock, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, MF Doom, Atmosphere... I mean cripes, half of Beck's catalogue contains songs or verses that he raps. It really is a very interesting and rhythmically challenging form of expression. It's just nice when you hear some that isn't about money, big booty bitches, drugs and faux gangster fronts.
