Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

It is what it is. Technically this is probably what I needed as I'm very much underemployed and dilly dallying about starting my life as an adult. Just wish it was more gradual/new year based.

Frankly I'm surprised I've managed to last as I did. I somehow have rented a house and paid for everything myself with a part time job and all my side flipping.

Reading up on the top 100 places in DFW to work. Lots of marketing and advertising stuff, IT/business integration etc.

Just saw an ad agency/recording studio is hiring and you bring your dog to work. Starting there.

Regarding the cops being trained/expecting everyone to be suspicious and/or dangerous, I don't blame them. Our society is chock full of douchebags that act like the rules don't apply to them, and, God forbid, you ask them to act like not-a-shaging-douchebag. It's real simple folks, if a dude with a gun is telling you to do something, shaging do it.

Also I detect a bit of suspicion towards soldiers. Is it culturally typical to villianize soldiers in Poland?(not an accusation just idle curiosity)
For the past 30 years here in America we've worked hard to have a better public opinion of soldiers. Not necessarily because they deserve it(though most do) but because at one point we treated our own soldiers very badly and damaged a whole generation of veterans.

Check out Radley Balkos work. his book, "Rise of the Warrior Cop" is fascinating insight into this phenomenon. I think too often we hire Veterans for these roles, but fail to realize all of the training is still in there. So you get guys who still WANT to be as hard as they were when they were 22 in the Corps, but here they are 30 and in the streets. Its really not a good mix. Then you remove the police uniform, and put them "back" into cammies, and the fit hits the shan. Once you have worn a uniform like that, it molds your personality, and expands or narrows the way you approach issues. I know it did for me.
