Good crowd, good pay from Sat night's HC gig. Rig was referred to as an "earthmover" which is of course a good thing. :p

Caucusing tonight. Always a tremendous waste of time. I envy states with primary votes.

Big snowstorm coming?

Never been to Berlin. Loved London, though.

I did the same with science fiction. Had a few good ideas, but since we've gone full astronomy lately, I'm thinking of starting to read Hawking and Sagan. The universe is so strange that sometimes you just don't need science fiction at all.

Hang in there. I can't imagine a place like that doesnt have opportunities for someone with a good head on their shoulders. "Paying your dues" sounds cliche and sucks, but it does come down to that in a lot of places.

Been there my man. Factory and production jobs always were more rough mentally than physically for me. Helps to think about what you will be spending the money on and your time away from there to get you through the day.

Was good! And cheap and simple to make.

I posted a want ad on Craigslist a few days ago, guy just contacted me looking to trade, we'll see how that goes.

My sister did a summer stint in QC at Dell on the circuit board assembly line. They said music was a distraction, but books were not...?

So she would glance at the line occasionally while reading her textbooks for school. Wasn't dangerous machinery, but still seems way more distracting if she's looking in another direction.

If it's an active warehouse/assembly line with forklifts and powered pallet jacks moving around then the earbuds/headphones could present a safety issue. Some places just ban them altogether.

No tunage allowed that I know of. And yep a temp agency contacted me about it. I knew it was gonna be like this, just wasnt ready for it to be this mind numbing. My chair was so uncomfortable my butt hurt. Had a tour of the place and saw all the other jobs, not much better if you ask me.

My mom said to me, "be happy you have a job, you could be cleaning toilets." I told her Id rather clean toilets, I would at least be moving around more.

But all this might not matter, got a call from an HVAC place I applied to and have an interview tomorrow after another 8 hours of factory life.

I've cleaned many a toilet, and I think I'm a better person for it. I'd still take the assembly job, it's like Julian said, pay the dues, show up everyday, have a good attitude and get your sh*t done, you won't be doing the same job for long. Hell, I'd ask for more sh*t to do. Still not the best long term but it'll do for now if you make it a little better for yourself.

Gearing up for the snow tomorrow, it's not supposed to be as bad here as in other places so it could be worse.

I enjoyed factory work for what it was. Just got tunnel vision and focused on my job until I mastered it. When I left a few months later (also a temp situation), I was doing the work of 3 men and my supervisor said he'd never seen anyone able to keep my pace. Told me he wished I was a full timer. Of course, my philosophy the whole time was to stay as busy as possible so I couldn't watch the clock. That would be hell.

Same experience I've had at every factory, industrial, warehouse job I've worked.

Oh man what a lucky day. I was in the most boring Cognos report writing class which I didn't even really need since my reports all I created I run. So the class kept filling up and not enough computers to go around and my Department head whispers you don't really have to be here! I would of been in there for 7 hours of torture. Feel like I got away with murder or something.

Day 2, same as day 1 the part bin still doesnt even look half empty...thanks for the words of encouragment guys, but its not really working, im kinda at my wits end already, I cant imgaine having to do this for another couple hours let alone another 3 months...its just sucks. I just keep telling myself its a job, just keep going.
