I have a Danelectro Psycho Flange I can sell ye if you're interested. Very heavy flange tones, kinda one-trick pony.

That could work. The digitech lines have a voice wheel for both that give a lot of weird options to dial in. 4-6-12 step phase- filter phase etc. of course no bass demos for anything.

I thought I'd just share my band's demo real quick. We're kinda getting run down as we haven't made much progress in the past 6 months. It is hard to find gigs in our area because most places want a jam band that can play a 3 hour set.

Right now I'm playing a Fender P-Bass through a Darkglass B3K, Markbass Mini Booster, a Carvin BX700 and two TC K212 cabs.
This weekend I'm hopefully picking up an Ibanez SR1400. I'm excited for the active tone.

Was it you who mentioned the Shepards end? Was looking up not cheap modulation, and that might be the darkest scariest piece I've found yet.

My funk/jazz band is crashing a High School Battle of the bands tonight. So that's happening (no I won't be sober).
3 more songs pretty much done, good stuff.
Used the bridge pickup on the ATK in the band mix for the first time and holy hell it sounds good. Less low end than the neck, but that's easily fixed with the eq on the bass. Way more midrange bark/bite. It always sounded a bit too clanky and aggressive when playing solo in the basement, so I never tried it at practice. It just sounded great in the mix, i should have known better and tired it sooner. I think I'll be staying with the bridge for a while.

Both are pretty sweet. Both digital, but they sound awesome. I actually think blended via a blend pedal or LS2 would be ideal for both. Not for low end retention but for clarity with the SE(unless you like a super washed flange) or speaker safety with the fwonk. The FB has some serious range to it and can throw lows unlike other pedals I've heard. Without some dialing In or a blend I can see it blowing and or frying drivers with aggressive play.

influx of cash, thank goodness, tax return, video work, photo work, drum sale, and art sale
will i enclose the car port and set up a photo/music space or will i pee the money away on assembling hot rodded vintage basses that i'll just sell for next to nothing?
will i finally address the tube situation in the mesa, or will i just continue to pretend that i haven't been playing it for over 5 years with no checkups?
going to the butterfly farm later, gotta water some trees in the yard

Happy Saturday! Working on my final art history paper, pounding coffee and resting an injured foot. Can't do poopie thanks to the foot so i think some new vegas is in order later. Got some scavenging and grinding to do...
Do those high pass filters really make a difference? I've always wanted to try one but can't talk myself into taking the leap.
Detailed answer: I don't know.
Vague answer: Yes. I mean I lack no real low end content at all. It is crystal clean, no impact on my tone whatsoever. I use it primarily for speaker protection and it seems to do its job. I don't have a ton of experience running my amps super loud without it. I mean anytime I've played super loud without it was into an 810, which isn't producing those lows anyway.
I'd say the fact that I don't see my speakers stressing and can't tell its there is a pretty strong endorsement considering how I use it. Then again, maybe the faitals are stout enough to handle everything my pedals and 2000s can throw at them.
Also, it's volume knob is handy for practice if you don't want to **** with your pedals and you want to just turn down.
Never thought of the master volume application. I use FDeck's HPF3, and I can say I notice no tone difference. I did notice speaker movement drastically decrease, however. Which is a good thing. Also, my amp is cleaner louder (sans pedals, of course). The amp doesn't produce as many of those sub lows that I can't hear anyway and waste tons of power on them. So I get more usage out of my volume knob. All in all, I'd say my HPF is one of the best utilitarian tools I have. My GK MB200 is another.
Total random observation that blows my mind - my Swollen Pickle and Pork Loin have identical settings except for filter, which are complete opposites. Weird.
I probably need that HPF3 more than the LS-2 for now. I want maximum spooky flange and speaker protection from the filter I end up with.
I've got a few populated blend boards waiting to be cases. I'm actually getting ready to make a blend box for my Fwonk and SE. If it works out well I'll send you one for parts and shipping. Maybe like $30 total.
Hmm local weeping demon might settle my filter gas for much cheaper at the moment.
