Yeah, wish I had known before I bought one. Plugged it in for the first time and was dismayed and pure filter funk coming out of my amp. Nothing wrong with funky filters, but they ain't wahs, that's for sure.
The Fwonkbeta is pretty funk filtery, but with a light touch it can apply. I wouldn't want a way with that sound though.
Let me do some clip research never heard one before. I found a local weeping demon $60 obo, so gonna try it out in person and flip if necessary.
I want to do fuzz into wah for extreme wah into a Shepards end flanger if I can snag one under new price.
Might add an OD or Boost post flanger, mayyyyybe a delay for maxed out crazy on the occasion.
Tuner, ISP, HPF3 and DI for the non effects bits.

Bought what should be my last piece for my drone setup late last night, an old Peavey 27 band rackmount graphic EQ for $70 shipped. Im hoping Ill be able to better control and emphasize specific frequencies within the drone to bring certain parts out. Cool thing is Im almost positive itll fit perfect in one of my extra Peavey headshells. When I get it, the basic signal path will be Drone synth > supermoon > EQ > 800 booster > bunch o cabs...trying to keep it as simple, used to have more delay, verb, trem and flange, but Ive recently striped the setdown to not over complicate things and put more focus on the drone as opposed to futzing with effects.
Made a deal with @DethByDoom for his El Oso over the weekend. Oddly enough, it's only three s/n away from my old one. Couldn't pass that up.
After seeing C.R. in action, I don't think any bass filtering is going to get through the band mix, unless you're using it on a solo or bass/drum jam bit.
Yeah, you're right about that. It would most likely be used in an intro or bass/drum passage. I really don't need one, hell I really only use 2-3 of the effects that are on my board.
That wah is huge, dont currently have an actual board. Would need to be sure that beast fits.

I'm playing in a power trio, and have a pretty large sonic space to play with we'll see if I can make the weeping demon fit the band.
Not a dubstep fan, but that got me interested in the wah vs a pedal. Fabtone Into demon would be some weird.
I love my Weeping Demon, great piece of gear, definitely worth it's physical size and monetary cost.
Cool sounds. Dude talks way too much, though. Also, the whole "your mic might pick up the wah pedal noise" is easily avoided by not having your wah pedal right next to your shaging microphone, and also recording loud enough that the mic won't pick up quiet noises like the wah pedal hitting the backplate.
Also, aren't most wahs kinda huge? My wah takes up the biggest chunk of pedalboard space by far. I'm actually the only one in my band with a wah.
