Almost any good traits I have as an adult are from seeing someone else doing something and thinking "Oh sh*t, is that what I'M doing?". Many years ago I used to be really grumpy about going places and had that "Sure, I'll go, but I'm going to be miserable and I'm going to let you know all about it" attitude. Then I started seeing guys in their late 30's and early 40's on vacation or out and about with their wives, who looked like a judge sentenced them to be married and spend time with her as harsh punishment and it hit me how incredibly obnoxious and terrible that attitude is. So now whenever we go ANYWHERE (because all I wanna do is play music, build things or hang out at home, really), I keep the general attitude of "this is where I am, this is what I'm doing, I can choose to be happy or miserable". Whenever my wife looks at me to see if something is really irritating and looks at me expectantly or asks me if I'm ok doing something I usually say (and mean) "I'm not here to NOT have fun". It helps that my wife is my best friend and I like hanging out with her, so I generally like to see her have fun. The cynical part of my brain already works overtime, so the older I get the more I actively try to be open minded and hearted and enjoy things sincerely, because having fun or being in a good mood is usually a choice.
If it was up to me, I doubt I would have seen anything Disney theme park related in the last 17 years, but I've had fun every time we've gone. I'll enjoy taking our kid(s) eventually too, I'm sure. Feeding off someone else's enthusiasm is a good way to have a fun time anywhere.
Laz is right also, Disneyworld is freakin awesome. I had a blast when we went. I especially enjoyed the Animal Kingdom. They have monkeys you guys, MONKEYS.
