As do I. With the low cut disengaged on the cl400 and low set at like 4 or 5 I am moving a ton of air. This is with the gain on like 4 or 5 and the master controls around 6. Mids on 8 or 9 and treble on 6 or 7.

With my pedals it is grindy and clear but with huge bottom. Like I said, the speakers are jumping. Id be concerned about pushing lows or volume much further.

Yeah it is a low end monster. Try adjusting your Fdeck and see where it cuts the speaker flub. See how you like the sound.

What's a Dually?

It is greenboy's take on the classic 215. Smaller and lighter than his 1515/66 or F215. More of a vintage sound than those cabs, but still a cut above most in terms of volume and sensitivity.

It covers a lot of ground with out sounding like there is too much crammed in to one pedal. I think their are better pedals out there, but most of them are more specific to one sound. The PL sounds good.

Premier 12x14 snare $30!

So I'll have the 8x20 bass drum with 12 and 14 toms. That 14 tom also works as a mini bass drum. Then the 5x14 standard snare rounds out the kit.

Other kit I'm experimenting with is a 14x22 kick, 12x14 snare, and some kind of 18" tom if I can find it, and the 14" tom from the other kit can also work here. Basically 3 toms, 2 bass drums and 2 snares that can form several kit styles.

So Shogun has run into a predicament that I want to hear what your guys thoughts are...

Our singer just let us know he/his mom goofed up the dates theyre leaving for a vac to europe and now he cant make it to an already booked gig later this August.

This gig IMO, is a very important one in its our second hometown show and even more so that we are breaking into a new scene weve never been in, the trendy indie rock scene of MKE that gets all the press and plays the inifinite amount of festivals that go on and actually get radio time and get paid.

Bonehead spacecadet moves aside, I believe the show must go on...We should play the show sans vox. We are fully capable of melting minds with and without him...hell because of his work schedule, we prac 95% without him anyway. In my mind to back out of a show this early in our existance could be quite detrimental to our breaking into this scene. I know if I booked a band Id never played with or really knew in person, and they backed out of a show, I would hesitate to book then again in the future. This show may not be our ticket to stardom, but its a foot in the door to a whole new crowd of people weve never played to.

I dont think the guitar and drummer get that. They both mentioned that our songs are incomplete without vox and i agree. To which suggested lets just go jam then. We jam all the time and are getting pretty close to being tight enough to do it live. Our problem is when we try to jam too long, like 30+ mins, thats when we kinda run out of things to do and start to faulter. But with that in mind, keep the jams shorter, were all fugging great musicians, we can put together a couple loose jams and blow minds without the need for vox and not do it half assed.

To me, this is not a question of if we should play, its a question of okay how do we get around the small roadblock and still put on a killer set thatll blow peoples untapped minds...

if the band is supposed to have vocals then i would either not play the show or play it under a different name. if you play as Shogun minus a member it could seem unprofessional and could hinder you guys getting more shows. you don't want to seem unreliable.

The different name is a thought but I doubt the rest would go for it. And is missing one member and still blowing the roof off the place more unprofessional than saying oops sorry didnt look at our calender right we cant play the show anymore...say you're on tour, your singer completely loses his voice and cant sing, do you cancel the rest of the tour or adapt and keep going because you made a business agreement and you want to fulfill that agreement the best you can.

I've used the swollen pickle. Sounds really awesomely obnoxious. Never tried the pork loin.

Do the vocals yourself. Also don't jam for like 30 minutes. That crap is annoying. Shorter jams are all right, but most bands, when they jam for 30 minutes, you can tell that by the end they're running out of ideas.

Lack of vocals means you can be louder, too.

On a SLIGHTLY more serious note, if you cancel more than two weeks out, I don't think that's too unprofessional. Less than 24 hours, definitely. But a couple weeks is a reasonable amount of time for a promoter to adjust the lineup. In fact, it could possibly be seen as more professional to cancel early than to show up and present a different product than the promoter thought he was getting (instrumental jam band vs. vocal-led rock).

In fact, it could possibly be seen as more professional to cancel early than to show up and present a different product than the promoter thought he was getting (instrumental jam band vs. vocal-led rock).

I would ask the person running the show what they'd prefer.
