I like this amp a lot. Love the gain knob.
[My old SVT has that issue that Corey described where it jumps from too quiet to (drummer and guitar crying) in a a very touchy spot on the volume knob. Saving it for big room or outdoors.]
If you just recorded an album lol isolate his vocals and play them to the music. Ghost vox

And yeah that would be my suggestion, 2 10-15ish min jams, that seems to be our comfortable and keeping things moving and keeping things interesting time limit. Like in 2 different tunings aswell...
What I think what we'll do is ask the guy who is setting up the show after we talk about it next prac. All I know is Ill be pretty bummed and quite miffed if we dont play this...because I know we can still put on a killer Shogun show without him.
Listening back to some H4N recordings of last night's practice - holy crap they sound good and the performances are 90℅ of the way there. Demo soon!
Can't find any info on this guy, English made 12x14, but no hardware or holes for marching. Rims are 10 lug like marching snares but rims aren't all marchy. I added my 40 strand snare wires, cut out head laid on top and this things a beast.
Is it bad I'm thinking the best option is add floor tom legs to it? @Sartori how does your drummer do it?
He just uses a snare stand. I think it's an adjustable one. What's the width on that drum?

But at 12" deep, it's like over 2x the depth of most snares (5"-6.5"), so my stands lowest point still leaves it crazy high up.

That's down to what kind of volume pot is used in the amp. For as well designed and made as some amps are, some manufacturers don't consider this at all and put a linear pot in. Which pretty much guarantees that there will be a big/sudden volume jump. I had this problem with my old Traynor YBA-1, it went from quiet to almost full volume before 1 on the dial. I had a tech switch the pots out for audio (logarithmic?) pots and it made a noticeable difference. It gave the effect of having more headroom, which it didn't actually effect but just allowed for a more gradual increase through the sweep of the pot.
Damn GAS. I just impulse bought a Foxrox Octron 2 for a decent price used and I couldn't be more excited. The effects loop is going to be super cool. Plus being able to kick in octave up for sections where guitarists are doing leads/ melodies while still having the clean signal under is going to be cool.

Its been awhile, and I've really missed this community. I took a rather long break from music (and life in general) after my 4 year relationship went caput at the end of 2015. Super healthy I know. Honestly I dont know where the last 8 months went. But oh well, finally waking up and coming out of my shell finally.
So here we are, somehow its August already, and I've recently joined a band! They've been kickin it in Pittsburgh for about 1.5 years now, have an album out and shows/festivals lined up this fall and next year... I'm hella pumped. Check out their album here.
I'm going to try my darndest to get active in this group again, especially having something to bring to the table conversation-wise. I also have a number of questions for this group as I'm jumping back into the foray (mostly around 15" speakers, Fdeck's HPF, and molding a solid bass tone in general between 2 heavy guitarists.) But I have my own research to do on that before throwing it out to the board... for now, just wanted to say Hello Again!

I think it was Squanch(?) that talked me into an Octron (v1) a while back. Still have it.
How do you like it? I was going to look for one of those used and save some coin but mulled it over a bit more and decided that the effects loop and independent switches were worth the extra loot. I don't imagine the lower will do much for me with my tuning but the upper being independent and with the loop sold me.
